शं नः सोमो भवतु ब्रह्म शं नः शं नो ग्रावाणः शमु सन्तु यज्ञाः । शं नः स्वरूणां मितयो भवन्तु शं नः प्रस्वः शम्वस्तु वेदिः ॥
śaṃ naḥ somo bhavatu brahma śaṃ naḥ śaṃ no grāvāṇaḥ śamu santu yajñāḥ | śaṃ naḥ svarūṇāṃ mitayo bhavantu śaṃ naḥ prasvaḥ śamvastu vediḥ ||
May the Soma be (offered for) our happiness; may the prayer be (uttered for) our happiness; may thestones (grind the Soma), the sacrifice be (solemnized for) our happiness; may the measured lengths of thesacrificial posts be (conducive to) our felicity; may the sacred grass be (strewn) for our happiness; may the altarbe (raised for) our happiness.
