ऋग्वेद 7.84 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

आ वां राजानावध्वरे ववृत्यां हव्येभिरिन्द्रावरुणा नमोभिः । प्र वां घृताची बाह्वोर्दधाना परि त्मना विषुरूपा जिगाति ॥

ā vāṃ rājānāvadhvare vavṛtyāṃ havyebhirindrāvaruṇā namobhiḥ | pra vāṃ ghṛtācī bāhvordadhānā pari tmanā viṣurūpā jigāti ||

Royal Indra and Varuṇa, I invite you to the sacrifice with oblations and with praise; the butter-dropping(ladle), held in our hands, offers spontaneously (the oblation) to you who are of many forms.

युवो राष्ट्रं बृहदिन्वति द्यौर्यौ सेतृभिररज्जुभिः सिनीथः । परि नो हेऴो वरुणस्य वृज्या उरुं न इन्द्रः कृणवदु लोकम् ॥

yuvo rāṣṭraṃ bṛhadinvati dyauryau setṛbhirarajjubhiḥ sinīthaḥ | pari no heḻo varuṇasya vṛjyā uruṃ na indraḥ kṛṇavadu lokam ||

Your vast kingdom of heaven gratifies (the world with rain), you who bind (the sinner) with bonds notmade of rope; may the wrath of Varuṇa pass away from us; may Indra prepare for us a spacious region.

कृतं नो यज्ञं विदथेषु चारुं कृतं ब्रह्माणि सूरिषु प्रशस्ता । उपो रयिर्देवजूतो न एतु प्र णः स्पार्हाभिरूतिभिस्तिरेतम् ॥

kṛtaṃ no yajñaṃ vidatheṣu cāruṃ kṛtaṃ brahmāṇi sūriṣu praśastā | upo rayirdevajūto na etu pra ṇaḥ spārhābhirūtibhistiretam ||

Render the sacrifices offered inour dwelling fruitful, the prayers uttered by the worshippers successful;may riches come to us sent by the gods; do you two give us increase by you desirable protections.

अस्मे इन्द्रावरुणा विश्ववारं रयिं धत्तं वसुमन्तं पुरुक्षुम् । प्र य आदित्यो अनृता मिनात्यमिता शूरो दयते वसूनि ॥

asme indrāvaruṇā viśvavāraṃ rayiṃ dhattaṃ vasumantaṃ purukṣum | pra ya ādityo anṛtā minātyamitā śūro dayate vasūni ||

Bestow upon us, Indra and Varuṇa, riches desirable to all, together with a dwelling and abundant food,for the hero, Āditya, who punishes beings devoid of truth, gives (to the devout) unbounded treasures.

इयमिन्द्रं वरुणमष्ट मे गीः प्रावत्तोके तनये तूतुजाना । सुरत्नासो देववीतिं गमेम यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

iyamindraṃ varuṇamaṣṭa me gīḥ prāvattoke tanaye tūtujānā | suratnāso devavītiṃ gamema yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

May this my praise reach Indra and Varuṇa, and, earnestly offered (by me), preserve sons andgrandsons; let us, possessed of affluence, present (their) food to the gods; and do you, (duties), ever cherish uswith blessings.
