[rv-7-71] • 6 श्लोकाः

अप स्वसुरुषसो नग्जिहीते रिणक्ति कृष्णीररुषाय पन्थाम् । अश्वामघा गोमघा वां हुवेम दिवा नक्तं शरुमस्मद्युयोतम् ॥

apa svasuruṣaso nagjihīte riṇakti kṛṣṇīraruṣāya panthām | aśvāmaghā gomaghā vāṃ huvema divā naktaṃ śarumasmadyuyotam ||

Night retires before the dawn, the sister (of the Aśvins); the dark night leaves the path clear for theradiant (sun); upon you, who are affluent in horses, affluenet in cattle, we call day and night; keep away from usthe malevolent.

उपायातं दाशुषे मर्त्याय रथेन वाममश्विना वहन्ता । युयुतमस्मदनिराममीवां दिवा नक्तं माध्वी त्रासीथां नः ॥

upāyātaṃ dāśuṣe martyāya rathena vāmamaśvinā vahantā | yuyutamasmadanirāmamīvāṃ divā naktaṃ mādhvī trāsīthāṃ naḥ ||

Come to the mortal, the donor (of oblations) bringing desired wealth in your chariot; keep afar from usfamine and sickness; day and night, Mādhvis, protect us.

आ वां रथमवमस्यां व्युष्टौ सुम्नायवो वृषणो वर्तयन्तु । स्यूमगभस्तिमृतयुग्भिरश्वैराश्विना वसुमन्तं वहेथाम् ॥

ā vāṃ rathamavamasyāṃ vyuṣṭau sumnāyavo vṛṣaṇo vartayantu | syūmagabhastimṛtayugbhiraśvairāśvinā vasumantaṃ vahethām ||

May your docile and vigorous (horses) bring hither your chariot at the approaching dawn; conducthither, Aśvins, your radiating, wealth-laden chariot, with your rain-bestowing steeds.

यो वां रथो नृपती अस्ति वोऴ्हा त्रिवन्धुरो वसुमाँ उस्रयामा । आ न एना नासत्योप यातमभि यद्वां विश्वप्स्न्यो जिगाति ॥

yo vāṃ ratho nṛpatī asti voḻhā trivandhuro vasumā~ usrayāmā | ā na enā nāsatyopa yātamabhi yadvāṃ viśvapsnyo jigāti ||

With that chariot, lords of men, which is your vehicle, which has three benches, is laden with wealth,and is the precursor of day, come Nāsatyās, to us; with that chariot which traverses (the sky) as yourall-pervading form.

युवं च्यवानं जरसोऽमुमुक्तं नि पेदव ऊहथुराशुमश्वम् । निरंहसस्तमसः स्पर्तमत्रिं नि जाहुषं शिथिरे धातमन्तः ॥

yuvaṃ cyavānaṃ jaraso'mumuktaṃ ni pedava ūhathurāśumaśvam | niraṃhasastamasaḥ spartamatriṃ ni jāhuṣaṃ śithire dhātamantaḥ ||

You exempted Cyavana from decay; you mounted Pedu upon a swift charger; you extricated Atri fromtorture and darkness; you replaced Jāhuṣa in his rebellious kingdom.

इयं मनीषा इयमश्विना गीरिमां सुवृक्तिं वृषणा जुषेथाम् । इमा ब्रह्माणि युवयून्यग्मन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

iyaṃ manīṣā iyamaśvinā gīrimāṃ suvṛktiṃ vṛṣaṇā juṣethām | imā brahmāṇi yuvayūnyagmanyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

This adoration, Aśvins, this praise (is for you), be gratified, showerer (of benefits), by this laudation;may these eulogies, addressed to you, reach you; and do you ever cherish us with blessings.
