[rv-7-69] • 8 श्लोकाः

आ वां रथो रोदसी बद्बधानो हिरण्ययो वृषभिर्यात्वश्वैः । घृतवर्तनिः पविभी रुचान इषां वोऴ्हा नृपतिर्वाजिनीवान् ॥

ā vāṃ ratho rodasī badbadhāno hiraṇyayo vṛṣabhiryātvaśvaiḥ | ghṛtavartaniḥ pavibhī rucāna iṣāṃ voḻhā nṛpatirvājinīvān ||

May your golden chariot, drawn by your vigorous horses, blocking up heaven and earth, come to us,following the track of the waters, radiant with (glowing) wheels, laden with viands, the protector of men, thereceptacle of food.

स पप्रथानो अभि पञ्च भूमा त्रिवन्धुरो मनसा यातु युक्तः । विशो येन गच्छथो देवयन्तीः कुत्रा चिद्याममश्विना दधाना ॥

sa paprathāno abhi pañca bhūmā trivandhuro manasā yātu yuktaḥ | viśo yena gacchatho devayantīḥ kutrā cidyāmamaśvinā dadhānā ||

Renowned among the five orders of beings, furnished with three benches, harnessed at will, may itcome hither; that (vehicle) wherewith you repair to devout mortals, whatsoever, Aśvins, directing your course.

स्वश्वा यशसा यातमर्वाग्दस्रा निधिं मधुमन्तं पिबाथः । वि वां रथो वध्वा यादमानोऽन्तान्दिवो बाधते वर्तनिभ्याम् ॥

svaśvā yaśasā yātamarvāgdasrā nidhiṃ madhumantaṃ pibāthaḥ | vi vāṃ ratho vadhvā yādamāno'ntāndivo bādhate vartanibhyām ||

Well-horsed and celebrated, come, Aśvins, to our presence; drink, Dasras, the sweet plural dge; yourchariot, conveying you, with your spouse, furrows with its two wheels the extremities of the sky.

युवोः श्रियं परि योषावृणीत सूरो दुहिता परितक्म्यायाम् । यद्देवयन्तमवथः शचीभिः परि घ्रंसमोमना वां वयो गात् ॥

yuvoḥ śriyaṃ pari yoṣāvṛṇīta sūro duhitā paritakmyāyām | yaddevayantamavathaḥ śacībhiḥ pari ghraṃsamomanā vāṃ vayo gāt ||

The daughter of Sūrya made choice of your chariot at the approach of night; you defend the devoutworshipper by your deeds, when the resplendent (sacrificial) food proceeds to you to secure your protection.

यो ह स्य वां रथिरा वस्त उस्रा रथो युजानः परियाति वर्तिः । तेन नः शं योरुषसो व्युष्टौ न्यश्विना वहतं यज्ञे अस्मिन् ॥

yo ha sya vāṃ rathirā vasta usrā ratho yujānaḥ pariyāti vartiḥ | tena naḥ śaṃ yoruṣaso vyuṣṭau nyaśvinā vahataṃ yajñe asmin ||

Riders in the chariot, Aśvin, come for our participation and welfare to this our sacrifice, at the dawn ofday, with that chariot which is clothed in radiance, and which, when harnessed, traverses its (appointed) road.

नरा गौरेव विद्युतं तृषाणास्माकमद्य सवनोप यातम् । पुरुत्रा हि वां मतिभिर्हवन्ते मा वामन्ये नि यमन्देवयन्तः ॥

narā gaureva vidyutaṃ tṛṣāṇāsmākamadya savanopa yātam | purutrā hi vāṃ matibhirhavante mā vāmanye ni yamandevayantaḥ ||

Leaders of rites, like (thirsty) cattle, thirsting for the radiant (Soma), hasten today to our sacrifice; inmany ceremonies do the pious propitiate you with praises; let not other devout worshippers detain you.

युवं भुज्युमवविद्धं समुद्र उदूहथुरर्णसो अस्रिधानैः । पतत्रिभिरश्रमैरव्यथिभिर्दंसनाभिरश्विना पारयन्ता ॥

yuvaṃ bhujyumavaviddhaṃ samudra udūhathurarṇaso asridhānaiḥ | patatribhiraśramairavyathibhirdaṃsanābhiraśvinā pārayantā ||

You bore up Bhujyu, Aśvins, from the waters, when cast into the sea, bearing him to shore by yourexertions with your undecaying, unwearied, unharassed horses.

नू मे हवमा शृणुतं युवाना यासिष्टं वर्तिरश्विनाविरावत् । धत्तं रत्नानि जरतं च सूरीन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

nū me havamā śṛṇutaṃ yuvānā yāsiṣṭaṃ vartiraśvināvirāvat | dhattaṃ ratnāni jarataṃ ca sūrīnyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

Ever youthful Aśvins, hear today this my invocation; come, Aśvins, to the dwelling where the oblation isprepared, grant wealth (to the offerer), elevate the worshipper, and do you ever cherish us with blessings.
