[rv-7-67] • 10 श्लोकाः

प्रति वां रथं नृपती जरध्यै हविष्मता मनसा यज्ञियेन । यो वां दूतो न धिष्ण्यावजीगरच्छा सूनुर्न पितरा विवक्मि ॥

prati vāṃ rathaṃ nṛpatī jaradhyai haviṣmatā manasā yajñiyena | yo vāṃ dūto na dhiṣṇyāvajīgaracchā sūnurna pitarā vivakmi ||

Lords of men, (I approach) to adore your chariot with devout praise and oblation, I address it as if itwere a messenger to awaken you, adorable deities, as a son (addresses) his parents.

अशोच्यग्निः समिधानो अस्मे उपो अदृश्रन्तमसश्चिदन्ताः । अचेति केतुरुषसः पुरस्ताच्छ्रिये दिवो दुहितुर्जायमानः ॥

aśocyagniḥ samidhāno asme upo adṛśrantamasaścidantāḥ | aceti keturuṣasaḥ purastācchriye divo duhiturjāyamānaḥ ||

Kindled by us, Agni blazes, the extremities of the darkness are seen near at hand, the banner (of thesun) is perceived rising with the glory on the east of the dawn, the daughter of heaven.

अभि वां नूनमश्विना सुहोता स्तोमैः सिषक्ति नासत्या विवक्वान् । पूर्वीभिर्यातं पथ्याभिरर्वाक्स्वर्विदा वसुमता रथेन ॥

abhi vāṃ nūnamaśvinā suhotā stomaiḥ siṣakti nāsatyā vivakvān | pūrvībhiryātaṃ pathyābhirarvāksvarvidā vasumatā rathena ||

Verily, Aśvins, the pious priest repeating (your praises) glorifies you, Nāsatyās with hymns; cometherefore by formerly-trodden paths to our presence with your chariot, familiar with heaven, laden with treasure.

अवोर्वां नूनमश्विना युवाकुर्हुवे यद्वां सुते माध्वी वसूयुः । आ वां वहन्तु स्थविरासो अश्वाः पिबाथो अस्मे सुषुता मधूनि ॥

avorvāṃ nūnamaśvinā yuvākurhuve yadvāṃ sute mādhvī vasūyuḥ | ā vāṃ vahantu sthavirāso aśvāḥ pibātho asme suṣutā madhūni ||

Relying on you, Aśvins, as protectors, desirous of wealth, Mādhvis, I invoke you when the Soma iseffused; may your stout horses bring you (hither); drink the sweet Soma poured out by us.

प्राचीमु देवाश्विना धियं मेऽमृध्रां सातये कृतं वसूयुम् । विश्वा अविष्टं वाज आ पुरंधीस्ता नः शक्तं शचीपती शचीभिः ॥

prācīmu devāśvinā dhiyaṃ me'mṛdhrāṃ sātaye kṛtaṃ vasūyum | viśvā aviṣṭaṃ vāja ā puraṃdhīstā naḥ śaktaṃ śacīpatī śacībhiḥ ||

Divine Aśvins, render my sincere and undisturbed adoration, offered for the sake of riches, (efficacious)for their acquisition; preserve all my caculties in (the time of) battle; protectors of pious acts (influenced) by ouracts, bestow upon us (wealth).

अविष्टं धीष्वश्विना न आसु प्रजावद्रेतो अह्रयं नो अस्तु । आ वां तोके तनये तूतुजानाः सुरत्नासो देववीतिं गमेम ॥

aviṣṭaṃ dhīṣvaśvinā na āsu prajāvadreto ahrayaṃ no astu | ā vāṃ toke tanaye tūtujānāḥ suratnāso devavītiṃ gamema ||

Protect us, Aśvins, in these pious acts, may our procreative power fail not; but (through your favour)possessing sons and grandsons, distributing desired riches and enjoying ample wealth, may we accomplish theworship of the gods.

एष स्य वां पूर्वगत्वेव सख्ये निधिर्हितो माध्वी रातो अस्मे । अहेऴता मनसा यातमर्वागश्नन्ता हव्यं मानुषीषु विक्षु ॥

eṣa sya vāṃ pūrvagatveva sakhye nidhirhito mādhvī rāto asme | aheḻatā manasā yātamarvāgaśnantā havyaṃ mānuṣīṣu vikṣu ||

This treasure given by us has been plural ced, Mādhvis, before you, like (an envoy) who has come to thepresence (of a prince) for (acquiring his) friendship; come to our presence with benevolent thoughts, acceptingthe oblations offered among human beings.

एकस्मिन्योगे भुरणा समाने परि वां सप्त स्रवतो रथो गात् । न वायन्ति सुभ्वो देवयुक्ता ये वां धूर्षु तरणयो वहन्ति ॥

ekasminyoge bhuraṇā samāne pari vāṃ sapta sravato ratho gāt | na vāyanti subhvo devayuktā ye vāṃ dhūrṣu taraṇayo vahanti ||

Nourishers of all, the chariot of you two, who are associated in a common purpose, traverses the sevenflowing (streams); the excellent horses harnessed by the gods, who bear you rapidly, careering in the car, arenever wearied.

असश्चता मघवद्भ्यो हि भूतं ये राया मघदेयं जुनन्ति । प्र ये बन्धुं सूनृताभिस्तिरन्ते गव्या पृञ्चन्तो अश्व्या मघानि ॥

asaścatā maghavadbhyo hi bhūtaṃ ye rāyā maghadeyaṃ junanti | pra ye bandhuṃ sūnṛtābhistirante gavyā pṛñcanto aśvyā maghāni ||

Be propitious to those who are affluent (in oblations), who offer the wealth that is to be offered for thesake of riches; they who encourage a kinsman with kind commendations, distributing wealth of cattle and ofhorses.

नू मे हवमा शृणुतं युवाना यासिष्टं वर्तिरश्विनाविरावत् । धत्तं रत्नानि जरतं च सूरीन्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

nū me havamā śṛṇutaṃ yuvānā yāsiṣṭaṃ vartiraśvināvirāvat | dhattaṃ ratnāni jarataṃ ca sūrīnyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

Ever youthful Aśvins, hear today my invocation; come Aśvins, to the dwelling where the oblation isprepared; grant wealth (to the offerer); elevate the worshipper and to you ever cherish us with blessings.
