ऋग्वेद 7.10 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

उषो न जारः पृथु पाजो अश्रेद्दविद्युतद्दीद्यच्छोशुचानः । वृषा हरिः शुचिरा भाति भासा धियो हिन्वान उशतीरजीगः ॥

uṣo na jāraḥ pṛthu pājo aśreddavidyutaddīdyacchośucānaḥ | vṛṣā hariḥ śucirā bhāti bhāsā dhiyo hinvāna uśatīrajīgaḥ ||

Agni, like the lover of the dawn (the sun), radiant, bright, resplendent, displays extensive lustre, theshowerer (of benefits), the receiver (of oblations), he shines with splendour, encouraging holy rites; he arouses(mankind), desiring (his presence).

स्वर्ण वस्तोरुषसामरोचि यज्ञं तन्वाना उशिजो न मन्म । अग्निर्जन्मानि देव आ वि विद्वान्द्रवद्दूतो देवयावा वनिष्ठः ॥

svarṇa vastoruṣasāmaroci yajñaṃ tanvānā uśijo na manma | agnirjanmāni deva ā vi vidvāndravaddūto devayāvā vaniṣṭhaḥ ||

Agni, preceding the dawn, is radiant by day as the sun, and the priests celebrating the sacrifice repeathis praise; the divine, munificent Agni, the messenger (of the gods), cognizant of their birth, repairing to thedeities, hastens in various directions.

अच्छा गिरो मतयो देवयन्तीरग्निं यन्ति द्रविणं भिक्षमाणाः । सुसंदृशं सुप्रतीकं स्वञ्चं हव्यवाहमरतिं मानुषाणाम् ॥

acchā giro matayo devayantīragniṃ yanti draviṇaṃ bhikṣamāṇāḥ | susaṃdṛśaṃ supratīkaṃ svañcaṃ havyavāhamaratiṃ mānuṣāṇām ||

Devout praises and hymns, soliciting riches, proceed to Agni, who is of plural asant aspect, agreeableform, of graceful movement, the bearer of oblations, the ruler of men.

इन्द्रं नो अग्ने वसुभिः सजोषा रुद्रं रुद्रेभिरा वहा बृहन्तम् । आदित्येभिरदितिं विश्वजन्यां बृहस्पतिमृक्वभिर्विश्ववारम् ॥

indraṃ no agne vasubhiḥ sajoṣā rudraṃ rudrebhirā vahā bṛhantam | ādityebhiraditiṃ viśvajanyāṃ bṛhaspatimṛkvabhirviśvavāram ||

Consentient with the Vasus, Agni, bring hither Indra, with the Rudras, the benevolent Aditi, with theĀdityas and Bṛhaspati, the desired of all, with the adorable (Aṅgirasas).

मन्द्रं होतारमुशिजो यविष्ठमग्निं विश ईऴते अध्वरेषु । स हि क्षपावाँ अभवद्रयीणामतन्द्रो दूतो यजथाय देवान् ॥

mandraṃ hotāramuśijo yaviṣṭhamagniṃ viśa īḻate adhvareṣu | sa hi kṣapāvā~ abhavadrayīṇāmatandro dūto yajathāya devān ||

Men desiring him celebrate at sacrifices the youthful Agni, the giver of delight, the invoker of the gods;he, the ruler of the night, has been the diligent envoy of the opulent (instrumental tutors of sacrifices) for the worship ofthe gods.
