ऋग्वेद 9.83 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

पवित्रं ते विततं ब्रह्मणस्पते प्रभुर्गात्राणि पर्येषि विश्वतः । अतप्ततनूर्न तदामो अश्नुते शृतास इद्वहन्तस्तत्समाशत ॥

pavitraṃ te vitataṃ brahmaṇaspate prabhurgātrāṇi paryeṣi viśvataḥ | ataptatanūrna tadāmo aśnute śṛtāsa idvahantastatsamāśata ||

Lord or prayer, your filter is stretched out; you who are the sovereign, enter its members from all sides; the raw (liquid) whose mass is not heated attains not this (filter); it is the boiled (liquids) bearing (the sacrifice) which attain it.

तपोष्पवित्रं विततं दिवस्पदे शोचन्तो अस्य तन्तवो व्यस्थिरन् । अवन्त्यस्य पवीतारमाशवो दिवस्पृष्ठमधि तिष्ठन्ति चेतसा ॥

tapoṣpavitraṃ vitataṃ divaspade śocanto asya tantavo vyasthiran | avantyasya pavītāramāśavo divaspṛṣṭhamadhi tiṣṭhanti cetasā ||

The filter of the foe-scorching (Soma) is spread on the summit of heaven; his shining filaments are separated, his swift-flowing (juices) protect the purifier (the worshipper), they dwell upon the summit of the sky in their wish (to approach the gods).

अरूरुचदुषसः पृश्निरग्रिय उक्षा बिभर्ति भुवनानि वाजयुः । मायाविनो ममिरे अस्य मायया नृचक्षसः पितरो गर्भमा दधुः ॥

arūrucaduṣasaḥ pṛśniragriya ukṣā bibharti bhuvanāni vājayuḥ | māyāvino mamire asya māyayā nṛcakṣasaḥ pitaro garbhamā dadhuḥ ||

The chief sun of the dawn (the Soma) shines forth; sprinkler (of water), he nourishes the worlds, wishing (to have them) food; by his intelligence the intelligent build, the pitṛs, the beholders of men, support the germ (of vegetation).

गन्धर्व इत्था पदमस्य रक्षति पाति देवानां जनिमान्यद्भुतः । गृभ्णाति रिपुं निधया निधापतिः सुकृत्तमा मधुनो भक्षमाशत ॥

gandharva itthā padamasya rakṣati pāti devānāṃ janimānyadbhutaḥ | gṛbhṇāti ripuṃ nidhayā nidhāpatiḥ sukṛttamā madhuno bhakṣamāśata ||

The gandharva verily protects this station; the marvellous (Soma) preserves the races of the gods; the lord of cattle seizes (our enemy) with a snare, the doers of good attain the drinking of the sweet-juiced (Soma).

हविर्हविष्मो महि सद्म दैव्यं नभो वसानः परि यास्यध्वरम् । राजा पवित्ररथो वाजमारुहः सहस्रभृष्टिर्जयसि श्रवो बृहत् ॥

havirhaviṣmo mahi sadma daivyaṃ nabho vasānaḥ pari yāsyadhvaram | rājā pavitraratho vājamāruhaḥ sahasrabhṛṣṭirjayasi śravo bṛhat ||

Possessed of water, you go clothed in the liquid water, to the great celestial abode to (take) the sacrifice; as king you ascend to the battle, mounted to your filter-chariot; armed with a thousand weapons you win (us) abundant food.
