ऋग्वेद 9.21 (श्लोक 7) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

एते धावन्तीन्दवः सोमा इन्द्राय घृष्वयः । मत्सरासः स्वर्विदः ॥

ete dhāvantīndavaḥ somā indrāya ghṛṣvayaḥ | matsarāsaḥ svarvidaḥ ||

These flowing Soma-juices, foe-destroying, exhilarating, heaven-conferring, have gone to Indra.

प्रवृण्वन्तो अभियुजः सुष्वये वरिवोविदः । स्वयं स्तोत्रे वयस्कृतः ॥

pravṛṇvanto abhiyujaḥ suṣvaye varivovidaḥ | svayaṃ stotre vayaskṛtaḥ ||

Showing favour, assailing foes, giving wealth to him who rightly effuses them, and bestowing food spontaneously on their praiser.

वृथा क्रीऴन्त इन्दवः सधस्थमभ्येकमित् । सिन्धोरूर्मा व्यक्षरन् ॥

vṛthā krīḻanta indavaḥ sadhasthamabhyekamit | sindhorūrmā vyakṣaran ||

The effused juices come sporting lightly to the common receptacle, they drop into the wave of the river.

एते विश्वानि वार्या पवमानास आशत । हिता न सप्तयो रथे ॥

ete viśvāni vāryā pavamānāsa āśata | hitā na saptayo rathe ||

Like horses harnessed to a car these pure juices bring (to us) all desirable blessings.

आस्मिन्पिशङ्गमिन्दवो दधाता वेनमादिशे । यो अस्मभ्यमरावा ॥

āsminpiśaṅgamindavo dadhātā venamādiśe | yo asmabhyamarāvā ||

Effused Soma-juices, at our indication, bestow manifold blessings on this (instrumental tutor of the sacrifice), who (at present) has given us nothing.

ऋभुर्न रथ्यं नवं दधाता केतमादिशे । शुक्राः पवध्वमर्णसा ॥

ṛbhurna rathyaṃ navaṃ dadhātā ketamādiśe | śukrāḥ pavadhvamarṇasā ||

As a great man sets before him a commendable charioteer, so do you grant knowledge to our lord, and flow glistening with water.

एत उ त्ये अवीवशन्काष्ठां वाजिनो अक्रत । सतः प्रासाविषुर्मतिम् ॥

eta u tye avīvaśankāṣṭhāṃ vājino akrata | sataḥ prāsāviṣurmatim ||

These effused juices have desired (the sacrifice); powerful they have made for themselves an abiding-plural ce; they have animated the intellect of the pious instrumental tutor of the rite.
