[rv-9-106] • 14 श्लोकाः

इन्द्रमच्छ सुता इमे वृषणं यन्तु हरयः । श्रुष्टी जातास इन्दवः स्वर्विदः ॥

indramaccha sutā ime vṛṣaṇaṃ yantu harayaḥ | śruṣṭī jātāsa indavaḥ svarvidaḥ ||

May these effused green-tinted Soma juices quickly genitive rated, all-knowing, proceed to Indra the showerer (of benefits).

अयं भराय सानसिरिन्द्राय पवते सुतः । सोमो जैत्रस्य चेतति यथा विदे ॥

ayaṃ bharāya sānasirindrāya pavate sutaḥ | somo jaitrasya cetati yathā vide ||

This effused Soma adorable for battle, is filtered for Indra; Soma thinks of the victorious (Indra) as he is known (in the world).

अस्येदिन्द्रो मदेष्वा ग्राभं गृभ्णीत सानसिम् । वज्रं च वृषणं भरत्समप्सुजित् ॥

asyedindro madeṣvā grābhaṃ gṛbhṇīta sānasim | vajraṃ ca vṛṣaṇaṃ bharatsamapsujit ||

In the Soma's exhilaration may Indra seize hold of wealth to be enjoyed (by all) and conquering Vṛtra in the waters may he wield the thunderbolt the showerer (of blessings).

प्र धन्वा सोम जागृविरिन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव । द्युमन्तं शुष्ममा भरा स्वर्विदम् ॥

pra dhanvā soma jāgṛvirindrāyendo pari srava | dyumantaṃ śuṣmamā bharā svarvidam ||

Flow Soma who are vigilant; Indu spread around for Indra; bring brilliant overpowering all-obtaining (strength).

इन्द्राय वृषणं मदं पवस्व विश्वदर्शतः । सहस्रयामा पथिकृद्विचक्षणः ॥

indrāya vṛṣaṇaṃ madaṃ pavasva viśvadarśataḥ | sahasrayāmā pathikṛdvicakṣaṇaḥ ||

Pour forth for Indra the exhilarating (juice) showering (benefits), you who are very beautiful, who have many paths, the finder of the (right) path, the observer (of all).

अस्मभ्यं गातुवित्तमो देवेभ्यो मधुमत्तमः । सहस्रं याहि पथिभिः कनिक्रदत् ॥

asmabhyaṃ gātuvittamo devebhyo madhumattamaḥ | sahasraṃ yāhi pathibhiḥ kanikradat ||

You who are the best finder of paths for us, the sweet beverage for the gods, come by a thousand paths crying aloud.

पवस्व देववीतय इन्दो धाराभिरोजसा । आ कलशं मधुमान्त्सोम नः सदः ॥

pavasva devavītaya indo dhārābhirojasā | ā kalaśaṃ madhumāntsoma naḥ sadaḥ ||

Flow, Indu, in your strength with your streams for the banquet of the gods; sit down, Soma, who are sweet-flavoured, in our pitcher.

तव द्रप्सा उदप्रुत इन्द्रं मदाय वावृधुः । त्वां देवासो अमृताय कं पपुः ॥

tava drapsā udapruta indraṃ madāya vāvṛdhuḥ | tvāṃ devāso amṛtāya kaṃ papuḥ ||

Your drops, goint to the water, have exalted Indra to exhilaration; the gods have quaffed you, the delighter, for immortality.

आ नः सुतास इन्दवः पुनाना धावता रयिम् । वृष्टिद्यावो रीत्यापः स्वर्विदः ॥

ā naḥ sutāsa indavaḥ punānā dhāvatā rayim | vṛṣṭidyāvo rītyāpaḥ svarvidaḥ ||

Bring us wealth, bright Soma juices effused, filtered, filling the sky with rain, shedding water (upon the earth) acquiring all things.

सोमः पुनान ऊर्मिणाव्यो वारं वि धावति । अग्रे वाचः पवमानः कनिक्रदत् ॥

somaḥ punāna ūrmiṇāvyo vāraṃ vi dhāvati | agre vācaḥ pavamānaḥ kanikradat ||

Some being filtered flows in a stream through the woollen fleece, crying aloud when filtered in advance of the voice (of praise).

धीभिर्हिन्वन्ति वाजिनं वने क्रीऴन्तमत्यविम् । अभि त्रिपृष्ठं मतयः समस्वरन् ॥

dhībhirhinvanti vājinaṃ vane krīḻantamatyavim | abhi tripṛṣṭhaṃ matayaḥ samasvaran ||

They send forth with their fingers the powerful Soma sporting in the water, passing through the fleece; praises celebrate him abiding in the three receptacles.

असर्जि कलशाँ अभि मीऴ्हे सप्तिर्न वाजयुः । पुनानो वाचं जनयन्नसिष्यदत् ॥

asarji kalaśā~ abhi mīḻhe saptirna vājayuḥ | punāno vācaṃ janayannasiṣyadat ||

Desiring (to give the worshipper) food he has been let loose into the pitchers like a charger in battle; being filtered, raising a cry he flows (into the vessels).

पवते हर्यतो हरिरति ह्वरांसि रंह्या । अभ्यर्षन्त्स्तोतृभ्यो वीरवद्यशः ॥

pavate haryato harirati hvarāṃsi raṃhyā | abhyarṣantstotṛbhyo vīravadyaśaḥ ||

The delightful green-tinted (juice) flows with rapidity into the crooked (pitchers); bringing the worshippers, food and male offspring.

अया पवस्व देवयुर्मधोर्धारा असृक्षत । रेभन्पवित्रं पर्येषि विश्वतः ॥

ayā pavasva devayurmadhordhārā asṛkṣata | rebhanpavitraṃ paryeṣi viśvataḥ ||

Devoted to the gods flow with that (stream); (your) streams of exhilarating beverage are let loose; with a roar you pass through the filter in all directions.
