ऋग्वेद 8.55 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

भूरीदिन्द्रस्य वीर्यं व्यख्यमभ्यायति । राधस्ते दस्यवे वृक ॥

bhūrīdindrasya vīryaṃ vyakhyamabhyāyati | rādhaste dasyave vṛka ||

Great indeed is Indra's might; I have beheld it; your gift approaches, O Dasyaave vṛka

शतं श्वेतास उक्षणो दिवि तारो न रोचन्ते । मह्ना दिवं न तस्तभुः ॥

śataṃ śvetāsa ukṣaṇo divi tāro na rocante | mahnā divaṃ na tastabhuḥ ||

A hundred white oxen shine like stars in the heaven, by their size they have almost held up theheavens.

शतं वेणूञ्छतं शुनः शतं चर्माणि म्लातानि । शतं मे बल्बजस्तुका अरुषीणां चतुःशतम् ॥

śataṃ veṇūñchataṃ śunaḥ śataṃ carmāṇi mlātāni | śataṃ me balbajastukā aruṣīṇāṃ catuḥśatam ||

A hundred bamboos, a hundred dogs, a hundred dressed hides, a hundred bunches of balbaja grass,and four hundred red mares are mine.

सुदेवाः स्थ काण्वायना वयोवयो विचरन्तः । अश्वासो न चङ्क्रमत ॥

sudevāḥ stha kāṇvāyanā vayovayo vicarantaḥ | aśvāso na caṅkramata ||

May youu have the gods propitious to you, O descendants of Kaṇva, living through youth on youth;step out vigorously like steed.

आदित्साप्तस्य चर्किरन्नानूनस्य महि श्रवः । श्यावीरतिध्वसन्पथश्चक्षुषा चन संनशे ॥

āditsāptasya carkirannānūnasya mahi śravaḥ | śyāvīratidhvasanpathaścakṣuṣā cana saṃnaśe ||

Let them praise the seven-yoked team, great is the strength of that which is not yet full-grown; thedark-brown mares have rushed along the paths so that no eye can follow them.
