ऋग्वेद 8.56 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

प्रति ते दस्यवे वृक राधो अदर्श्यह्रयम् । द्यौर्न प्रथिना शवः ॥

prati te dasyave vṛka rādho adarśyahrayam | dyaurna prathinā śavaḥ ||

Your inexhaustible gift has appeared, O Dasyave vṛka, its fullness is in extent like the sky.

दश मह्यं पौतक्रतः सहस्रा दस्यवे वृकः । नित्याद्रायो अमंहत ॥

daśa mahyaṃ pautakrataḥ sahasrā dasyave vṛkaḥ | nityādrāyo amaṃhata ||

Dasyave-vṛka, the son of Putakrata, has given to me ten thousand from his own store.

शतं मे गर्दभानां शतमूर्णावतीनाम् । शतं दासाँ अति स्रजः ॥

śataṃ me gardabhānāṃ śatamūrṇāvatīnām | śataṃ dāsā~ ati srajaḥ ||

A hundred asses a hundred woolly sheep, a hundred slaves, beside garlands.

तत्रो अपि प्राणीयत पूतक्रतायै व्यक्ता । अश्वानामिन्न यूथ्याम् ॥

tatro api prāṇīyata pūtakratāyai vyaktā | aśvānāminna yūthyām ||

There too has been brought for Putakrata a well-adorned mare, which is not one of the common horsesof the herd.

अचेत्यग्निश्चिकितुर्हव्यवाट् स सुमद्रथः । अग्निः शुक्रेण शोचिषा बृहत्सूरो अरोचत दिवि सूर्यो अरोचत ॥

acetyagniścikiturhavyavāṭ sa sumadrathaḥ | agniḥ śukreṇa śociṣā bṛhatsūro arocata divi sūryo arocata ||

The shining Agni has appeared, the bearer of the oblation, with his chariot; Agni has gleamed forthbrilliantly with his bright flame as Sura, he has gleamed forth in heaven as Sūrya.
