ऋग्वेद 7.78 (श्लोक 5) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

प्रति केतवः प्रथमा अदृश्रन्नूर्ध्वा अस्या अञ्जयो वि श्रयन्ते । उषो अर्वाचा बृहता रथेन ज्योतिष्मता वाममस्मभ्यं वक्षि ॥

prati ketavaḥ prathamā adṛśrannūrdhvā asyā añjayo vi śrayante | uṣo arvācā bṛhatā rathena jyotiṣmatā vāmamasmabhyaṃ vakṣi ||

The first signs of the Dawn are visible, her rays are spreading not high; you bring us, Uṣas, desirable(riches) in your vast, descending and resplendent chariot.

प्रति षीमग्निर्जरते समिद्धः प्रति विप्रासो मतिभिर्गृणन्तः । उषा याति ज्योतिषा बाधमाना विश्वा तमांसि दुरिताप देवी ॥

prati ṣīmagnirjarate samiddhaḥ prati viprāso matibhirgṛṇantaḥ | uṣā yāti jyotiṣā bādhamānā viśvā tamāṃsi duritāpa devī ||

The kindled fire increases everywhere, (and) the priests, glorifying (the dawn) with hymns; the divineUṣas comes, driving away all the evil glooms by her lustre.

एता उ त्याः प्रत्यदृश्रन्पुरस्ताज्ज्योतिर्यच्छन्तीरुषसो विभातीः । अजीजनन्त्सूर्यं यज्ञमग्निमपाचीनं तमो अगादजुष्टम् ॥

etā u tyāḥ pratyadṛśranpurastājjyotiryacchantīruṣaso vibhātīḥ | ajījanantsūryaṃ yajñamagnimapācīnaṃ tamo agādajuṣṭam ||

These luminous (beams of the) dawn are beheld in the east diffusing light; (the dawn) enger sacrifice,fire; the odious glooms, descending, disappear.

अचेति दिवो दुहिता मघोनी विश्वे पश्यन्त्युषसं विभातीम् । आस्थाद्रथं स्वधया युज्यमानमा यमश्वासः सुयुजो वहन्ति ॥

aceti divo duhitā maghonī viśve paśyantyuṣasaṃ vibhātīm | āsthādrathaṃ svadhayā yujyamānamā yamaśvāsaḥ suyujo vahanti ||

The affluent daughter of heaven is perceived; all creatures behold the luminous dawn; she ascends herchariot laden with sustenance, which her easily- yoked horses draw.

प्रति त्वाद्य सुमनसो बुधन्तास्माकासो मघवानो वयं च । तिल्विलायध्वमुषसो विभातीर्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

prati tvādya sumanaso budhantāsmākāso maghavāno vayaṃ ca | tilvilāyadhvamuṣaso vibhātīryūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

Affluent (in sacrificial offerings), actuated by one mind, we and ours awaken you, (Uṣas), today;luminous dawns, soften (the earth) with unctuous (dews) and do you, (gods) ever cherish us with blessingṣ
