[rv-7-62] • 6 श्लोकाः

उत्सूर्यो बृहदर्चींष्यश्रेत्पुरु विश्वा जनिम मानुषाणाम् । समो दिवा ददृशे रोचमानः क्रत्वा कृतः सुकृतः कर्तृभिर्भूत् ॥

utsūryo bṛhadarcīṃṣyaśretpuru viśvā janima mānuṣāṇām | samo divā dadṛśe rocamānaḥ kratvā kṛtaḥ sukṛtaḥ kartṛbhirbhūt ||

Sūrya spreads his vast and numerous rays over all the crowds of men; shining bright by day, he isbeheld (by all) the same, the creator, the created, he is glorified by his worshippers.

स सूर्य प्रति पुरो न उद्गा एभिः स्तोमेभिरेतशेभिरेवैः । प्र नो मित्राय वरुणाय वोचोऽनागसो अर्यम्णे अग्नये च ॥

sa sūrya prati puro na udgā ebhiḥ stomebhiretaśebhirevaiḥ | pra no mitrāya varuṇāya voco'nāgaso aryamṇe agnaye ca ||

Rise up before us, Sūrya, with your glorious white horses; declare us free from sin to Mitra, Varuṇa,Aryaman, and Agni.

वि नः सहस्रं शुरुधो रदन्त्वृतावानो वरुणो मित्रो अग्निः । यच्छन्तु चन्द्रा उपमं नो अर्कमा नः कामं पूपुरन्तु स्तवानाः ॥

vi naḥ sahasraṃ śurudho radantvṛtāvāno varuṇo mitro agniḥ | yacchantu candrā upamaṃ no arkamā naḥ kāmaṃ pūpurantu stavānāḥ ||

May Varuṇa, Mitra and Agni, the alleviators of pain, the observers of truth, bestow upon us thousands(of riches); may they, the givers of delight, grant us excellent (food); glorified by us, many they fulfil our desires.

द्यावाभूमी अदिते त्रासीथां नो ये वां जज्ञुः सुजनिमान ऋष्वे । मा हेऴे भूम वरुणस्य वायोर्मा मित्रस्य प्रियतमस्य नृणाम् ॥

dyāvābhūmī adite trāsīthāṃ no ye vāṃ jajñuḥ sujanimāna ṛṣve | mā heḻe bhūma varuṇasya vāyormā mitrasya priyatamasya nṛṇām ||

Indivisible and mighty heaven and earth protect us who, of fortunate birth, have knowledge of you both;let us not incur the displeasure of Varuṇa, or of Vāyu, or of Mitra, the best beloved of men.

प्र बाहवा सिसृतं जीवसे न आ नो गव्यूतिमुक्षतं घृतेन । आ नो जने श्रवयतं युवाना श्रुतं मे मित्रावरुणा हवेमा ॥

pra bāhavā sisṛtaṃ jīvase na ā no gavyūtimukṣataṃ ghṛtena | ā no jane śravayataṃ yuvānā śrutaṃ me mitrāvaruṇā havemā ||

Stretch forth your arms for the prolongation of our existence, bedew with water the pastures of ourcattle, render us honoured among men; ever youthful Mitra and Varuṇa, hear these my invocations.

नू मित्रो वरुणो अर्यमा नस्त्मने तोकाय वरिवो दधन्तु । सुगा नो विश्वा सुपथानि सन्तु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

nū mitro varuṇo aryamā nastmane tokāya varivo dadhantu | sugā no viśvā supathāni santu yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||

May Mitra, Varuṇa, Aryaman grant affluence to us and to our posterity; may all paths be easy of accessunto us; and do you ever cherish us with blessings.
