[rv-5-79] • 10 श्लोकाः

महे नो अद्य बोधयोषो राये दिवित्मती । यथा चिन्नो अबोधयः सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

mahe no adya bodhayoṣo rāye divitmatī | yathā cinno abodhayaḥ satyaśravasi vāyye sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Radiant Uṣas, wake up today for (the acquisition of) ample riches, in like manner as you have awakened us (of old); bright-born, and praised sincerely for (the gift of) horses, show favour to satyaśravas, the son of Vayya.

या सुनीथे शौचद्रथे व्यौच्छो दुहितर्दिवः । सा व्युच्छ सहीयसि सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

yā sunīthe śaucadrathe vyauccho duhitardivaḥ | sā vyuccha sahīyasi satyaśravasi vāyye sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Daughter of heaven, who have dawned upon Sunitha, the son of Śucadratha, bright-born, and praised sincerely for (the gift of) horses, dawn upon the powerful son of Vayya, Satyaśravas.

सा नो अद्याभरद्वसुर्व्युच्छा दुहितर्दिवः । यो व्यौच्छः सहीयसि सत्यश्रवसि वाय्ये सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

sā no adyābharadvasurvyucchā duhitardivaḥ | yo vyaucchaḥ sahīyasi satyaśravasi vāyye sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Daughter of heaven, who are the bringer of opulence, dawn upon us today, as, bright-born, and praised for (the gift of) horses, you have dawned upon the powerful Satyaśravas, the son of Vayya.

अभि ये त्वा विभावरि स्तोमैर्गृणन्ति वह्नयः । मघैर्मघोनि सुश्रियो दामन्वन्तः सुरातयः सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

abhi ye tvā vibhāvari stomairgṛṇanti vahnayaḥ | maghairmaghoni suśriyo dāmanvantaḥ surātayaḥ sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

The offerers of oblations who eulogize you, lustrous Uṣas, with sacred hymns, become prosperous with affluence, (through your favour), bestower of wealth, bright-born goddess, (who are) sincrely praised for (the gift of) horses.

यच्चिद्धि ते गणा इमे छदयन्ति मघत्तये । परि चिद्वष्टयो दधुर्ददतो राधो अह्रयं सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

yacciddhi te gaṇā ime chadayanti maghattaye | pari cidvaṣṭayo dadhurdadato rādho ahrayaṃ sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

These, your assembled (worshippers), who stand before you to distribute wealth, entertain towards us kindly intentions, offering unlimited riches; bright-born goddess, (who are) sincerely praised for (the gift of) horses.

ऐषु धा वीरवद्यश उषो मघोनि सूरिषु । ये नो राधांस्यह्रया मघवानो अरासत सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

aiṣu dhā vīravadyaśa uṣo maghoni sūriṣu | ye no rādhāṃsyahrayā maghavāno arāsata sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Affluent Uṣas, bestow upon these (yor) devout adorers food and posterity, so that, being opulent, they may, without stint, bestow riches upon us; bright-born goddess who are sincerely praised for (the gift of) horses.

तेभ्यो द्युम्नं बृहद्यश उषो मघोन्या वह । ये नो राधांस्यश्व्या गव्या भजन्त सूरयः सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

tebhyo dyumnaṃ bṛhadyaśa uṣo maghonyā vaha | ye no rādhāṃsyaśvyā gavyā bhajanta sūrayaḥ sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Affluent Uṣas, bring wealth and abundant food to those who, liberal givers, bestow upon us riches with horses and cattle; bright-born goddess (who are) sincerely prised for (the gift of) horses.

उत नो गोमतीरिष आ वहा दुहितर्दिवः । साकं सूर्यस्य रश्मिभिः शुक्रैः शोचद्भिरर्चिभिः सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

uta no gomatīriṣa ā vahā duhitardivaḥ | sākaṃ sūryasya raśmibhiḥ śukraiḥ śocadbhirarcibhiḥ sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Daughter of heaven, bring to us food and cattle together with the pure rays of the sun, and the radiant flames (of the kindled fires); bright-born goddess, (who are) sincerely praised for (the gift of) horses.

व्युच्छा दुहितर्दिवो मा चिरं तनुथा अपः । नेत्त्वा स्तेनं यथा रिपुं तपाति सूरो अर्चिषा सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

vyucchā duhitardivo mā ciraṃ tanuthā apaḥ | nettvā stenaṃ yathā ripuṃ tapāti sūro arciṣā sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

Daughter of heaven, Dawn! delay not our (sacred) rite; let not the sun scorch you with his ray, as (a prince punishes) a thief, or (subdues) an enemy; bright-born goddess,(who are), sincerely praised for (the gift of) horses.

एतावद्वेदुषस्त्वं भूयो वा दातुमर्हसि । या स्तोतृभ्यो विभावर्युच्छन्ती न प्रमीयसे सुजाते अश्वसूनृते ॥

etāvadveduṣastvaṃ bhūyo vā dātumarhasi | yā stotṛbhyo vibhāvaryucchantī na pramīyase sujāte aśvasūnṛte ||

You, Uṣas, are able to give (us) whatever, indeed, (has been solicited), and much (that has not been asked for); for, radiant (divinity), who are dawning upon your adorers, you are never cruel (to them);bright-born goddess (who are) sincerely praised for (the gift of) horses.
