ऋग्वेद 5.67 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

बऴित्था देव निष्कृतमादित्या यजतं बृहत् । वरुण मित्रार्यमन्वर्षिष्ठं क्षत्रमाशाथे ॥

baḻitthā deva niṣkṛtamādityā yajataṃ bṛhat | varuṇa mitrāryamanvarṣiṣṭhaṃ kṣatramāśāthe ||

Divine sons of Aditi, Mitra, Varuṇa, Aryaman, verily you are possessed, at the present time, of perfect, adorable, vast, exceeding strength.

आ यद्योनिं हिरण्ययं वरुण मित्र सदथः । धर्तारा चर्षणीनां यन्तं सुम्नं रिशादसा ॥

ā yadyoniṃ hiraṇyayaṃ varuṇa mitra sadathaḥ | dhartārā carṣaṇīnāṃ yantaṃ sumnaṃ riśādasā ||

When you come, Varuṇa and Mitra, to the delightful plural ce of sacrifice, then, supporters of men, destroyers of foes, you bring felicity.

विश्वे हि विश्ववेदसो वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा । व्रता पदेव सश्चिरे पान्ति मर्त्यं रिषः ॥

viśve hi viśvavedaso varuṇo mitro aryamā | vratā padeva saścire pānti martyaṃ riṣaḥ ||

Mitra, Varuṇa, Aryaman, who are possessed of omniscience, are all associated at our rites, as if in (their respective) station, and protect the worshipper from the malignant.

ते हि सत्या ऋतस्पृश ऋतावानो जनेजने । सुनीथासः सुदानव्ॐऽहोश्चिदुरुचक्रयः ॥

te hi satyā ṛtaspṛśa ṛtāvāno janejane | sunīthāsaḥ sudānavoṃ'hościdurucakrayaḥ ||

They verily are observers of truth, distributors of water, protectors of holy rites among men; guides in the right way, liberal donors, and benefactors even of the sinner (who worships them).

को नु वां मित्रास्तुतो वरुणो वा तनूनाम् । तत्सु वामेषते मतिरत्रिभ्य एषते मतिः ॥

ko nu vāṃ mitrāstuto varuṇo vā tanūnām | tatsu vāmeṣate matiratribhya eṣate matiḥ ||

Which of you, Mitra and Varuṇa, has not been celebrated in (our) praise, for therefore do our thoughts tend towards you; the thoughts of the lineage of Atri tend towards you.
