ऋग्वेद 5.38 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

उरोष्ट इन्द्र राधसो विभ्वी रातिः शतक्रतो । अधा नो विश्वचर्षणे द्युम्ना सुक्षत्र मंहय ॥

uroṣṭa indra rādhaso vibhvī rātiḥ śatakrato | adhā no viśvacarṣaṇe dyumnā sukṣatra maṃhaya ||

Indra of many exploits, liberal is the distribution of your abundnat riches; therefore, all-beholder, possessor of excellent wealth, bestow upon us opulence.

यदीमिन्द्र श्रवाय्यमिषं शविष्ठ दधिषे । पप्रथे दीर्घश्रुत्तमं हिरण्यवर्ण दुष्टरम् ॥

yadīmindra śravāyyamiṣaṃ śaviṣṭha dadhiṣe | paprathe dīrghaśruttamaṃ hiraṇyavarṇa duṣṭaram ||

Although, most mighty Indra, you possess well-known abundance (of food), yet golden-hued (deity) it is most notoriously reported as difficult(to be procured).

शुष्मासो ये ते अद्रिवो मेहना केतसापः । उभा देवावभिष्टये दिवश्च ग्मश्च राजथः ॥

śuṣmāso ye te adrivo mehanā ketasāpaḥ | ubhā devāvabhiṣṭaye divaśca gmaśca rājathaḥ ||

Wielder of the thunderbolt, yours are the strong (Maruts), who are adorable, and whose exploits are renowned; both divinities, (you and they), rule at plural asure over heaven and earth.

उतो नो अस्य कस्य चिद्दक्षस्य तव वृत्रहन् । अस्मभ्यं नृम्णमा भरास्मभ्यं नृमणस्यसे ॥

uto no asya kasya ciddakṣasya tava vṛtrahan | asmabhyaṃ nṛmṇamā bharāsmabhyaṃ nṛmaṇasyase ||

Slayer of Vṛtra, bring to us, your (worshippers), the wealth of any powerful (man) whatsoever, for you are disposed to enrich us.

नू त आभिरभिष्टिभिस्तव शर्मञ्छतक्रतो । इन्द्र स्याम सुगोपाः शूर स्याम सुगोपाः ॥

nū ta ābhirabhiṣṭibhistava śarmañchatakrato | indra syāma sugopāḥ śūra syāma sugopāḥ ||

May we, Śatakratu, speedily (partake of) your felicity through these our prayers; may we be well secured, Indra, (by you); may we be carefully protected, hero, by you.
