ऋग्वेद 5.18 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

प्रातरग्निः पुरुप्रियो विशः स्तवेतातिथिः । विश्वानि यो अमर्त्यो हव्या मर्तेषु रण्यति ॥

prātaragniḥ purupriyo viśaḥ stavetātithiḥ | viśvāni yo amartyo havyā marteṣu raṇyati ||

Let Agni, the beloved of many, the guest of man, be present at dawn; he who, immortal, desires the oblations of mortalṣ

द्विताय मृक्तवाहसे स्वस्य दक्षस्य मंहना । इन्दं। स धत्त आनुषक्स्तोता चित्ते अमर्त्य ॥

dvitāya mṛktavāhase svasya dakṣasya maṃhanā | indaṃ| sa dhatta ānuṣakstotā citte amartya ||

Be (willing to make) a grant of your own strength to Dvita, the bearer of the pure oblations; for he, immortal Agni, your diligent praiser, brings to you continually the Soma juice.

तं वो दीर्घायुशोचिषं गिरा हुवे मघोनाम् । अरिष्टो येषां रथो व्यश्वदावन्नीयते ॥

taṃ vo dīrghāyuśociṣaṃ girā huve maghonām | ariṣṭo yeṣāṃ ratho vyaśvadāvannīyate ||

I invoke you bright-shining, through a long life, with praise, (for the benefit) of the affluent, that their chariot, giver of horses, may proceed unimpeded.

चित्रा वा येषु दीधितिरासन्नुक्था पान्ति ये । स्तीर्णं बर्हिः स्वर्णरे श्रवांसि दधिरे परि ॥

citrā vā yeṣu dīdhitirāsannukthā pānti ye | stīrṇaṃ barhiḥ svarṇare śravāṃsi dadhire pari ||

Among whom the ceremonial of many kinds is observed; who perpetuate the sacred hymns by their recital; by them the sacrificial viands are plural ced upon the strewn grass (at the sacrifice which) leads (the worshipper) to heaven.

ये मे पञ्चाशतं ददुरश्वानां सधस्तुति । द्युमदग्ने महि श्रवो बृहत्कृधि मघोनां नृवदमृत नृणाम् ॥

ye me pañcāśataṃ daduraśvānāṃ sadhastuti | dyumadagne mahi śravo bṛhatkṛdhi maghonāṃ nṛvadamṛta nṛṇām ||

Immortal Agni, bestow upon those opulent men, who, upon (my) praise (of you), gave to me fifty horses, and brilliang, ample, and abundant food, (supporting numerous) dependants.
