ऋग्वेद 5.14 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

अग्निं स्तोमेन बोधय समिधानो अमर्त्यम् । हव्या देवेषु नो दधत् ॥

agniṃ stomena bodhaya samidhāno amartyam | havyā deveṣu no dadhat ||

Waken the immortal Agni with praise, that, being kindled, he may bear our oblations to the gods.

तमध्वरेष्वीऴते देवं मर्ता अमर्त्यम् । यजिष्ठं मानुषे जने ॥

tamadhvareṣvīḻate devaṃ martā amartyam | yajiṣṭhaṃ mānuṣe jane ||

Mortals worship him, an immortal divinity, at their sacrifices, most adorable among the human race.

तं हि शश्वन्त ईऴते स्रुचा देवं घृतश्चुता । अग्निं हव्याय वोऴ्हवे ॥

taṃ hi śaśvanta īḻate srucā devaṃ ghṛtaścutā | agniṃ havyāya voḻhave ||

Numerous (worshippers), pouring out butter from the (sacrificial) ladle, glorify him the divine Agni, that he may convey their oblation (to the gods).

अग्निर्जातो अरोचत घ्नन्दस्यूञ्ज्योतिषा तमः । अविन्दद्गा अपः स्वः ॥

agnirjāto arocata ghnandasyūñjyotiṣā tamaḥ | avindadgā apaḥ svaḥ ||

Agni, as soon as born, blazes brightly, destroying the dasyus, and (dispersing) the darkness by his lustre; he has discovered the cows, the waters, the sun.

अग्निमीऴेन्यं कविं घृतपृष्ठं सपर्यत । वेतु मे शृणवद्धवम् ॥

agnimīḻenyaṃ kaviṃ ghṛtapṛṣṭhaṃ saparyata | vetu me śṛṇavaddhavam ||

Worship the adorable Agni, the sage, whose summit blazes with butter; may he hear and comprehend my invocations.

अग्निं घृतेन वावृधुः स्तोमेभिर्विश्वचर्षणिम् । स्वाधीभिर्वचस्युभिः ॥

agniṃ ghṛtena vāvṛdhuḥ stomebhirviśvacarṣaṇim | svādhībhirvacasyubhiḥ ||

They have augmented, Agni, the beholder of all, with oblations and with praises, along with the gods, the objects of pious meditation, desirous of praise.
