[rv-5-10] • 7 श्लोकाः

अग्न ओजिष्ठमा भर द्युम्नमस्मभ्यमध्रिगो । प्र नो राया परीणसा रत्सि वाजाय पन्थाम् ॥

agna ojiṣṭhamā bhara dyumnamasmabhyamadhrigo | pra no rāyā parīṇasā ratsi vājāya panthām ||

Agni, of irresistible prowess, bring to us most powerful treasure; (invest us) with surrounding wealth; mark out the paths to abundance.

त्वं नो अग्ने अद्भुत क्रत्वा दक्षस्य मंहना । त्वे असुर्यमारुहत्क्राणा मित्रो न यज्ञियः ॥

tvaṃ no agne adbhuta kratvā dakṣasya maṃhanā | tve asuryamāruhatkrāṇā mitro na yajñiyaḥ ||

Marvellous Agni, (gratified) by our acts, (produce) in us greatness of vigour; in you abides the strength destroying evil spirits; you who are to be worshipped like Mitra, are the doer (of great deeds).

त्वं नो अग्न एषां गयं पुष्टिं च वर्धय । ये स्तोमेभिः प्र सूरयो नरो मघान्यानशुः ॥

tvaṃ no agna eṣāṃ gayaṃ puṣṭiṃ ca vardhaya | ye stomebhiḥ pra sūrayo naro maghānyānaśuḥ ||

Augment, Agni, our dwelling and prosperity, for the devout men (who have propitiated you) by their praises have acquired riches.

ये अग्ने चन्द्र ते गिरः शुम्भन्त्यश्वराधसः । शुष्मेभिः शुष्मिणो नरो दिवश्चिद्येषां बृहत्सुकीर्तिर्बोधति त्मना ॥

ye agne candra te giraḥ śumbhantyaśvarādhasaḥ | śuṣmebhiḥ śuṣmiṇo naro divaścidyeṣāṃ bṛhatsukīrtirbodhati tmanā ||

Delightful Agni, those men who glorify you with hymns become rich in horses, and are invigorated with (foe-destroying) energies; and their great renown, spread through the firmament arouses (you) of your own accord.

तव त्ये अग्ने अर्चयो भ्राजन्तो यन्ति धृष्णुया । परिज्मानो न विद्युतः स्वानो रथो न वाजयुः ॥

tava tye agne arcayo bhrājanto yanti dhṛṣṇuyā | parijmāno na vidyutaḥ svāno ratho na vājayuḥ ||

These your bright and fierce flames, Agni, spread around like the circumambient lightning, and are like a rattling chariot rushing (into battle) for booty.

नू नो अग्न ऊतये सबाधसश्च रातये । अस्माकासश्च सूरयो विश्वा आशास्तरीषणि ॥

nū no agna ūtaye sabādhasaśca rātaye | asmākāsaśca sūrayo viśvā āśāstarīṣaṇi ||

Be prompt, Agni, for our protection, and for the gift of poverty-repelling (riches); and may our pious descendants be able to compass all their desires.

त्वं नो अग्ने अङ्गिरः स्तुतः स्तवान आ भर । होतर्विभ्वासहं रयिं: स्तोतृभ्यः स्तवसे च न उतैधि पृत्सु नो वृधे ॥

tvaṃ no agne aṅgiraḥ stutaḥ stavāna ā bhara | hotarvibhvāsahaṃ rayiṃ: stotṛbhyaḥ stavase ca na utaidhi pṛtsu no vṛdhe ||

Agni, who are Aṅgiras, glorified in the past, glorified (at present), invoker (of the gods), bring unto us riches (enabling us) to overcome the mighty; give to your praisers (ability) to praise you, and be (at hand) for our success in battles.
