[rv-4-45] • 7 श्लोकाः

एष स्य भानुरुदियर्ति युज्यते रथः परिज्मा दिवो अस्य सानवि । पृक्षासो अस्मिन्मिथुना अधि त्रयो दृतिस्तुरीयो मधुनो वि रप्शते ॥

eṣa sya bhānurudiyarti yujyate rathaḥ parijmā divo asya sānavi | pṛkṣāso asminmithunā adhi trayo dṛtisturīyo madhuno vi rapśate ||

The sun rises; your chariot, (Aśvins), traversing (the regions), is associated with the divine (orb) on the summit (of the eastern mountain in it are three analogous kinds of food, and the leather vessel of the sweet Soma juice appears as the fourth.

उद्वां पृक्षासो मधुमन्त ईरते रथा अश्वास उषसो व्युष्टिषु । अपोर्णुवन्तस्तम आ परीवृतं स्वर्ण शुक्रं तन्वन्त आ रजः ॥

udvāṃ pṛkṣāso madhumanta īrate rathā aśvāsa uṣaso vyuṣṭiṣu | aporṇuvantastama ā parīvṛtaṃ svarṇa śukraṃ tanvanta ā rajaḥ ||

Your food-bearing, Soma-laden, well-horsed chariots, appearing at the opening of the dawn, scattering the surrounding darkness like the sun, and spreading bright radiance over the firmament.

मध्वः पिबतं मधुपेभिरासभिरुत प्रियं मधुने युञ्जाथां रथम् । आ वर्तनिं मधुना जिन्वथस्पथो दृतिं वहेथे मधुमन्तमश्विना ॥

madhvaḥ pibataṃ madhupebhirāsabhiruta priyaṃ madhune yuñjāthāṃ ratham | ā vartaniṃ madhunā jinvathaspatho dṛtiṃ vahethe madhumantamaśvinā ||

Drink of the Soma juice, with mouths (fit for) imbibing the beverage; harness your beloved chariot for the Soma juice; (come to the dwelling) of the sacrifice; enliven the path with the Soma; bring, Aśvins, the leather vessels filled with the Soma-juice.

हंसासो ये वां मधुमन्तो अस्रिधो हिरण्यपर्णा उहुव उषर्बुधः । उदप्रुतो मन्दिनो मन्दिनिस्पृशो मध्वो न मक्षः सवनानि गच्छथः ॥

haṃsāso ye vāṃ madhumanto asridho hiraṇyaparṇā uhuva uṣarbudhaḥ | udapruto mandino mandinispṛśo madhvo na makṣaḥ savanāni gacchathaḥ ||

Come to sacrifices as flies to honey, (with those horses) that are swift of speed, genitive le, unrefractory, golden-winged, bearers (of burden), wakers at dawn, dispensers of water, exulting and sipping the Soma juice.

स्वध्वरासो मधुमन्तो अग्नय उस्रा जरन्ते प्रति वस्तोरश्विना । यन्निक्तहस्तस्तरणिर्विचक्षणः सोमं सुषाव मधुमन्तमद्रिभिः ॥

svadhvarāso madhumanto agnaya usrā jarante prati vastoraśvinā | yanniktahastastaraṇirvicakṣaṇaḥ somaṃ suṣāva madhumantamadribhiḥ ||

The ssacred fires, the instrumental uments of holy sacrifice the conveyers of libations, praise the associated Aśvins at the break of day, when the observant (priest) the conductor of the rite, with washed hands has expressed by the (grinding) stones the sweet-flavoured Soma juice.

आकेनिपासो अहभिर्दविध्वतः स्वर्ण शुक्रं तन्वन्त आ रजः । सूरश्चिदश्वान्युयुजान ईयते विश्वाँ अनु स्वधया चेतथस्पथः ॥

ākenipāso ahabhirdavidhvataḥ svarṇa śukraṃ tanvanta ā rajaḥ | sūraścidaśvānyuyujāna īyate viśvā~ anu svadhayā cetathaspathaḥ ||

The near-advancing (rays), dispersing (the darkness) by the (light of day), are overspreading the firmament with lustre like the sun; the sun, harnessing his horses, (proceeds on his way); do you make known all his paths by (following) after (him) with sacrificial food.

प्र वामवोचमश्विना धियंधा रथः स्वश्वो अजरो यो अस्ति । येन सद्यः परि रजांसि याथो हविष्मन्तं तरणिं भोजमच्छ ॥

pra vāmavocamaśvinā dhiyaṃdhā rathaḥ svaśvo ajaro yo asti | yena sadyaḥ pari rajāṃsi yātho haviṣmantaṃ taraṇiṃ bhojamaccha ||

Celebrating (sacred) rites, I glorify you, Aśvins; well-horsed and undecaying is that chariot, whereby you quickly traverse the regions (of space), and come to (our sacrifice) abounding in oblations, promptly passing away, and the yielder of enjoyment.
