ऋग्वेद 4.46 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

अग्रं पिबा मधूनां सुतं वायो दिविष्टिषु । त्वं हि पूर्वपा असि ॥

agraṃ pibā madhūnāṃ sutaṃ vāyo diviṣṭiṣu | tvaṃ hi pūrvapā asi ||

Drink first, Vāyu, the effused libation of the Soma at the rites that secure heaven, for you verily are the first drinker.

शतेना नो अभिष्टिभिर्नियुत्वाँ इन्द्रसारथिः । वायो सुतस्य तृम्पतम् ॥

śatenā no abhiṣṭibhirniyutvā~ indrasārathiḥ | vāyo sutasya tṛmpatam ||

Vāyu, who are drawn by the Niyuts, and have Indra for charioteer, come (for the fulfilment) of our numerous wishes, and do you (and Indra) drink of the libation.

आ वां सहस्रं हरय इन्द्रवायू अभि प्रयः । वहन्तु सोमपीतये ॥

ā vāṃ sahasraṃ haraya indravāyū abhi prayaḥ | vahantu somapītaye ||

Indra and Vāyu, may a thousand steeds, eager for food, bring you to drink the Soma.

रथं हिरण्यवन्धुरमिन्द्रवायू स्वध्वरम् । आ हि स्थाथो दिविस्पृशम् ॥

rathaṃ hiraṇyavandhuramindravāyū svadhvaram | ā hi sthātho divispṛśam ||

Mount, Indra and Vāyu, the golden-seated chariot, propitious to sacrifice, soaring to heaven.

रथेन पृथुपाजसा दाश्वांसमुप गच्छतम् । इन्द्रवायू इहा गतम् ॥

rathena pṛthupājasā dāśvāṃsamupa gacchatam | indravāyū ihā gatam ||

Indra and Vāyu, come with your very strong chariot to the sacrifice; come hither.

इन्द्रवायू अयं सुतस्तं देवेभिः सजोषसा । पिबतं दाशुषो गृहे ॥

indravāyū ayaṃ sutastaṃ devebhiḥ sajoṣasā | pibataṃ dāśuṣo gṛhe ||

Indra and Vāyu, this (libation) is poured out sympathizing with the gods, drink it in the dwelling of the donor.

इह प्रयाणमस्तु वामिन्द्रवायू विमोचनम् । इह वां सोमपीतये ॥

iha prayāṇamastu vāmindravāyū vimocanam | iha vāṃ somapītaye ||

Hither be your course; here, Indra and Vāyu, be the letting of your horses loose, for your drinking of the Soma.
