[rv-4-44] • 7 श्लोकाः

तं वां रथं वयमद्या हुवेम पृथुज्रयमश्विना संगतिं गोः । यः सूर्यां वहति वन्धुरायुर्गिर्वाहसं पुरुतमं वसूयुम् ॥

taṃ vāṃ rathaṃ vayamadyā huvema pṛthujrayamaśvinā saṃgatiṃ goḥ | yaḥ sūryāṃ vahati vandhurāyurgirvāhasaṃ purutamaṃ vasūyum ||

We invoke, Aśvins, today, your rapid car, the associator of the solar ray; the banked car which bears Sūrya, vast, wealthy, and laden with praises.

युवं श्रियमश्विना देवता तां दिवो नपाता वनथः शचीभिः । युवोर्वपुरभि पृक्षः सचन्ते वहन्ति यत्ककुहासो रथे वाम् ॥

yuvaṃ śriyamaśvinā devatā tāṃ divo napātā vanathaḥ śacībhiḥ | yuvorvapurabhi pṛkṣaḥ sacante vahanti yatkakuhāso rathe vām ||

Aśvins, grandsons of heaven, divinities, you enjoy that glory of your actions, that (sacrificial) food is administered to your person ns, and powerul horses draw you in your chariot.

को वामद्या करते रातहव्य ऊतये वा सुतपेयाय वार्कैः । ऋतस्य वा वनुषे पूर्व्याय नमो येमानो अश्विना ववर्तत् ॥

ko vāmadyā karate rātahavya ūtaye vā sutapeyāya vārkaiḥ | ṛtasya vā vanuṣe pūrvyāya namo yemāno aśvinā vavartat ||

What offer of oblations addresses you today with hymns for the sake (of obtaining) protection, for the drinking of the Soma, or for the ancient fulfilment of the sacrifice? what offer of adoration may bring you Aśvins may bring you Aśvins (to this rite)?

हिरण्ययेन पुरुभू रथेनेमं यज्ञं नासत्योप यातम् । पिबाथ इन्मधुनः सोम्यस्य दधथो रत्नं विधते जनाय ॥

hiraṇyayena purubhū rathenemaṃ yajñaṃ nāsatyopa yātam | pibātha inmadhunaḥ somyasya dadhatho ratnaṃ vidhate janāya ||

Nāsatyas, who are manifold, come with your golden chariot to this sacrifice; drink of the sweet Soma beverage, and give precious things to the man who celebrates (your worship).

आ नो यातं दिवो अच्छा पृथिव्या हिरण्ययेन सुवृता रथेन । मा वामन्ये नि यमन्देवयन्तः सं यद्ददे नाभिः पूर्व्या वाम् ॥

ā no yātaṃ divo acchā pṛthivyā hiraṇyayena suvṛtā rathena | mā vāmanye ni yamandevayantaḥ saṃ yaddade nābhiḥ pūrvyā vām ||

Come to our presence, whether from heaven or earth, with your well-constructed golden chariot; let not other devout worshippers detain yhou, for a prior attraction awaits you (here).

नू नो रयिं पुरुवीरं बृहन्तं दस्रा मिमाथामुभयेष्वस्मे । नरो यद्वामश्विना स्तोममावन्त्सधस्तुतिमाजमीऴ्हासो अग्मन् ॥

nū no rayiṃ puruvīraṃ bṛhantaṃ dasrā mimāthāmubhayeṣvasme | naro yadvāmaśvinā stomamāvantsadhastutimājamīḻhāso agman ||

Dasras, mete out for us both great opulence, comprising many descendants, since the leaders of the rite (the Purumīḷhas), have addressed to you, Aśvins, their praise, and the Ajamīḷhas have united with it their laudation.

इहेह यद्वां समना पपृक्षे सेयमस्मे सुमतिर्वाजरत्ना । उरुष्यतं जरितारं युवं ह श्रितः कामो नासत्या युवद्रिक् ॥

iheha yadvāṃ samanā papṛkṣe seyamasme sumatirvājaratnā | uruṣyataṃ jaritāraṃ yuvaṃ ha śritaḥ kāmo nāsatyā yuvadrik ||

May you earn praise wherewith, distributors of food, I associate you both like-minded at this sacrifice, be (beneficial) to us; do you protect your worshipper; my desire, Nāsatyas, directed towards you is gratified.
