[rv-3-35] • 11 श्लोकाः

तिष्ठा हरी रथ आ युज्यमाना याहि वायुर्न नियुतो नो अच्छ । पिबास्यन्धो अभिसृष्टो अस्मे इन्द्र स्वाहा ररिमा ते मदाय ॥

tiṣṭhā harī ratha ā yujyamānā yāhi vāyurna niyuto no accha | pibāsyandho abhisṛṣṭo asme indra svāhā rarimā te madāya ||

Stay, Indra, having yoked the horses to the car, as Vāyu stops when he has put to his steds, and come to our presence; solicited by us to drink of the Soma, which with reverence we offer for your exhilaration.

उपाजिरा पुरुहूताय सप्ती हरी रथस्य धूर्ष्वा युनज्मि । द्रवद्यथा सम्भृतं विश्वतश्चिदुपेमं यज्ञमा वहात इन्द्रम् ॥

upājirā puruhūtāya saptī harī rathasya dhūrṣvā yunajmi | dravadyathā sambhṛtaṃ viśvataścidupemaṃ yajñamā vahāta indram ||

I harness for you, who is invoked by many, the swift gliding horses to the shafts of the car, that they may bear Indra to this sacrifice that is prepared with all (that is required).

उपो नयस्व वृषणा तपुष्पोतेमव त्वं वृषभ स्वधावः । ग्रसेतामश्वा वि मुचेह शोणा दिवेदिवे सदृशीरद्धि धानाः ॥

upo nayasva vṛṣaṇā tapuṣpotemava tvaṃ vṛṣabha svadhāvaḥ | grasetāmaśvā vi muceha śoṇā divedive sadṛśīraddhi dhānāḥ ||

Showerer (of benefits), giver of food, guide hither your vigorous horses, defending (us) against foes, and protect (your worshippers); here unharness the bay steeds, and give them fodder, and you eat daily suitable food.

ब्रह्मणा ते ब्रह्मयुजा युनज्मि हरी सखाया सधमाद आशू । स्थिरं रथं सुखमिन्द्राधितिष्ठन्प्रजानन्विद्वाँ उप याहि सोमम् ॥

brahmaṇā te brahmayujā yunajmi harī sakhāyā sadhamāda āśū | sthiraṃ rathaṃ sukhamindrādhitiṣṭhanprajānanvidvā~ upa yāhi somam ||

I harness with prayer your horses, who are to be harnessed with prayer, who are allies and swift-paced in battle; arise, and all-knowing Indra, mounting on your firm and easy chariot, come to the libation.

मा ते हरी वृषणा वीतपृष्ठा नि रीरमन्यजमानासो अन्ये । अत्यायाहि शश्वतो वयं तेऽरं सुतेभिः कृणवाम सोमैः ॥

mā te harī vṛṣaṇā vītapṛṣṭhā ni rīramanyajamānāso anye | atyāyāhi śaśvato vayaṃ te'raṃ sutebhiḥ kṛṇavāma somaiḥ ||

Let not other sacrifices attract your vigorous and smooth-backed steeds; disregarding others, come perpetually hither, that we may propitiate you sufficiently with effused Soma libations.

तवायं सोमस्त्वमेह्यर्वाङ्छश्वत्तमं सुमना अस्य पाहि । अस्मिन्यज्ञे बर्हिष्या निषद्या दधिष्वेमं जठर इन्दुमिन्द्र ॥

tavāyaṃ somastvamehyarvāṅchaśvattamaṃ sumanā asya pāhi | asminyajñe barhiṣyā niṣadyā dadhiṣvemaṃ jaṭhara indumindra ||

This soma libation is for you; come down, and well disposed, drink of it unceasingly; seated on the grass at this sacrifice, take Indra, this (libation) into your belly.

स्तीर्णं ते बर्हिः सुत इन्द्र सोमः कृता धाना अत्तवे ते हरिभ्याम् । तदोकसे पुरुशाकाय वृष्णे मरुत्वते तुभ्यं राता हवींषि ॥

stīrṇaṃ te barhiḥ suta indra somaḥ kṛtā dhānā attave te haribhyām | tadokase puruśākāya vṛṣṇe marutvate tubhyaṃ rātā havīṃṣi ||

The sacred grass is strewn for you; the Soma, Indra, is poured forth; the grain wherewith to feed your horses is prepared; the oblations are offered to you abiding on the sacred grass, who is praised of many, and is the showerer (of benefits), attended by the Maruts.

इमं नरः पर्वतास्तुभ्यमापः समिन्द्र गोभिर्मधुमन्तमक्रन् । तस्यागत्या सुमना ऋष्व पाहि प्रजानन्विद्वान्पथ्या अनु स्वाः ॥

imaṃ naraḥ parvatāstubhyamāpaḥ samindra gobhirmadhumantamakran | tasyāgatyā sumanā ṛṣva pāhi prajānanvidvānpathyā anu svāḥ ||

The leaders (of the ceremony) have prepared for you, Indra, this (libation), sweetened with milk, the stones, the water; beautiful Indra, who is favourably disposed, and who is wise, knowing well (the worship) that is according to your peculiar paths, come and drink of this libation.

याँ आभजो मरुत इन्द्र सोमे ये त्वामवर्धन्नभवन्गणस्ते । तेभिरेतं सजोषा वावशानोऽग्नेः पिब जिह्वया सोममिन्द्र ॥

yā~ ābhajo maruta indra some ye tvāmavardhannabhavangaṇaste | tebhiretaṃ sajoṣā vāvaśāno'gneḥ piba jihvayā somamindra ||

Associated, Indra, with those Maruts with whom you have shared in the libation, who encouraged you (in battle), and are your attendant troop, drink, desirous of the Soma, along with them, with the tongue of Agni.

इन्द्र पिब स्वधया चित्सुतस्याग्नेर्वा पाहि जिह्वया यजत्र । अध्वर्योर्वा प्रयतं शक्र हस्ताद्धोतुर्वा यज्ञं हविषो जुषस्व ॥

indra piba svadhayā citsutasyāgnervā pāhi jihvayā yajatra | adhvaryorvā prayataṃ śakra hastāddhoturvā yajñaṃ haviṣo juṣasva ||

Adorable Indra, drink of the effused libation, either by your own effort, or through the tongue of Agni; drink it, Śakra, offered by the hand of the adhvaryu, or accept the presentation of the oblation (from the hand) of the Hotā.

शुनं हुवेम मघवानमिन्द्रमस्मिन्भरे नृतमं वाजसातौ । शृण्वन्तमुग्रमूतये समत्सु घ्नन्तं वृत्राणि संजितं धनानाम् ॥

śunaṃ huvema maghavānamindramasminbhare nṛtamaṃ vājasātau | śṛṇvantamugramūtaye samatsu ghnantaṃ vṛtrāṇi saṃjitaṃ dhanānām ||

We invoke for our protection the opulent Indra distinguished in this combat; the leader in the food bestowing (strife), hearing (our praises), terrible in battles the destroyer of foes, the conqueror of wealth.
