[rv-2-32] • 8 श्लोकाः

अस्य मे द्यावापृथिवी ऋतायतो भूतमवित्री वचसः सिषासतः । ययोरायुः प्रतरं ते इदं पुर उपस्तुते वसूयुर्वां महो दधे ॥

asya me dyāvāpṛthivī ṛtāyato bhūtamavitrī vacasaḥ siṣāsataḥ | yayorāyuḥ prataraṃ te idaṃ pura upastute vasūyurvāṃ maho dadhe ||

Heaven and Earth, be the protectors of me your worshipper, anxious to propitiate you by worship and adoration, for of you two is abundant food; desiring riches, I glorify you both and celebrate you with great (laudation).

मा नो गुह्या रिप आयोरहन्दभन्मा न आभ्यो रीरधो दुच्छुनाभ्यः । मा नो वि यौः सख्या विद्धि तस्य नः सुम्नायता मनसा तत्त्वेमहे ॥

mā no guhyā ripa āyorahandabhanmā na ābhyo rīradho ducchunābhyaḥ | mā no vi yauḥ sakhyā viddhi tasya naḥ sumnāyatā manasā tattvemahe ||

Let not the secret guile of man, (Indra), harm us by day (or night); leave us not subject to the malevolent, disunite us not from your frienship; regard us with the favourable thoughts that (spring) from it; we ask this (boon) of you.

अहेऴता मनसा श्रुष्टिमा वह दुहानां धेनुं पिप्युषीमसश्चतम् । पद्याभिराशुं वचसा च वाजिनं त्वां हिनोमि पुरुहूत विश्वहा ॥

aheḻatā manasā śruṣṭimā vaha duhānāṃ dhenuṃ pipyuṣīmasaścatam | padyābhirāśuṃ vacasā ca vājinaṃ tvāṃ hinomi puruhūta viśvahā ||

Bring to us, with benignant mind, the well-nourished and compactly-limbed cow, yielding milk, and conferring happiness; daily I glorify you, who are adored by many, quick in (your) steps, and rapid in (your) words.

राकामहं सुहवां सुष्टुती हुवे शृणोतु नः सुभगा बोधतु त्मना । सीव्यत्वपः सूच्याच्छिद्यमानया ददातु वीरं शतदायमुक्थ्यम् ॥

rākāmahaṃ suhavāṃ suṣṭutī huve śṛṇotu naḥ subhagā bodhatu tmanā | sīvyatvapaḥ sūcyācchidyamānayā dadātu vīraṃ śatadāyamukthyam ||

I invoke, with suitable praise, Rākā, who is worthily invoked; may she, who is auspicious of good fortune, hear us, and spontaneously understand (our purpose); may she sew her work with an infallible needle; may she grant us excellent and opulent descendants.

यास्ते राके सुमतयः सुपेशसो याभिर्ददासि दाशुषे वसूनि । ताभिर्नो अद्य सुमना उपागहि सहस्रपोषं सुभगे रराणा ॥

yāste rāke sumatayaḥ supeśaso yābhirdadāsi dāśuṣe vasūni | tābhirno adya sumanā upāgahi sahasrapoṣaṃ subhage rarāṇā ||

Rākā, with those your kind and gracious intentions, wherewith you grant riches to the donor (of oblations), approach us today; you who are auspicious of good fortune, favourably inclined, and bestowing a thousand blessings.

सिनीवालि पृथुष्टुके या देवानामसि स्वसा । जुषस्व हव्यमाहुतं प्रजां देवि दिदिड्ढि नः ॥

sinīvāli pṛthuṣṭuke yā devānāmasi svasā | juṣasva havyamāhutaṃ prajāṃ devi didiḍḍhi naḥ ||

Wide-hipped Sinivālī, who are the sister of the gods, accept the offered oblation, and grant us, goddess, progeny.

या सुबाहुः स्वङ्गुरिः सुषूमा बहुसूवरी । तस्यै विश्पत्न्यै हविः सिनीवाल्यै जुहोतन ॥

yā subāhuḥ svaṅguriḥ suṣūmā bahusūvarī | tasyai viśpatnyai haviḥ sinīvālyai juhotana ||

Offer the oblation to that Sinīvālī, the protectress of mankind who has beautiful arms, beautiful fingers, who is the parent of many children, and who has numerous children.

या गुङ्गूर्या सिनीवाली या राका या सरस्वती । इन्द्राणीमह्व ऊतये वरुणानीं स्वस्तये ॥

yā guṅgūryā sinīvālī yā rākā yā sarasvatī | indrāṇīmahva ūtaye varuṇānīṃ svastaye ||

I invoke her who is Gaṅgū, who is Sinīvālī, who is Rākā, who is Sarasvatī; (I invoke) Indrāṇī for protection, Varuṇānī for welfare.
