[rv-10-93] • 15 श्लोकाः

महि द्यावापृथिवी भूतमुर्वी नारी यह्वी न रोदसी सदं नः । तेभिर्नः पातं सह्यस एभिर्नः पातं शूषणि ॥

mahi dyāvāpṛthivī bhūtamurvī nārī yahvī na rodasī sadaṃ naḥ | tebhirnaḥ pātaṃ sahyasa ebhirnaḥ pātaṃ śūṣaṇi ||

Heaven and earth, be great and spacious; mighty Rodasī, be ever with us like wives; with these (yourprotections), protect us from (the foe who is) stronger (than we), with these protect us in the might (of ourenemies).

यज्ञेयज्ञे स मर्त्यो देवान्त्सपर्यति । यः सुम्नैर्दीर्घश्रुत्तम आविवासत्येनान् ॥

yajñeyajñe sa martyo devāntsaparyati | yaḥ sumnairdīrghaśruttama āvivāsatyenān ||

That man plural ases the gods at every sacrifice who, being most versed in protracted texts, worshipsthem with gratifying (oblations).

विश्वेषामिरज्यवो देवानां वार्महः । विश्वे हि विश्वमहसो विश्वे यज्ञेषु यज्ञियाः ॥

viśveṣāmirajyavo devānāṃ vārmahaḥ | viśve hi viśvamahaso viśve yajñeṣu yajñiyāḥ ||

Lords of all worlds, (give us) the abundant wealth of the gods; for (you) all are endowed with greatglory (you) all are to be worshipped at the sacrifices.

ते घा राजानो अमृतस्य मन्द्रा अर्यमा मित्रो वरुणः परिज्मा । कद्रुद्रो नृणां स्तुतो मरुतः पूषणो भगः ॥

te ghā rājāno amṛtasya mandrā aryamā mitro varuṇaḥ parijmā | kadrudro nṛṇāṃ stuto marutaḥ pūṣaṇo bhagaḥ ||

They are the lords of the ambrosia, adorable, Aryaman, Mitra, the circumambient Varuṇa, Rudra, whois hymned by the priests, the Maruts, Pūṣan, Bhaga.

उत नो नक्तमपां वृषण्वसू सूर्यामासा सदनाय सधन्या । सचा यत्साद्येषामहिर्बुध्नेषु बुध्न्यः ॥

uta no naktamapāṃ vṛṣaṇvasū sūryāmāsā sadanāya sadhanyā | sacā yatsādyeṣāmahirbudhneṣu budhnyaḥ ||

And (you two Aśvins) showering wealth, (you) sun and moon, (lords) of the waters, equally rich,(come) by night to our abode, when Ahirbudhnya sits down in their company in the firmamental (clouds).

उत नो देवावश्विना शुभस्पती धामभिर्मित्रावरुणा उरुष्यताम् । महः स राय एषतेऽति धन्वेव दुरिता ॥

uta no devāvaśvinā śubhaspatī dhāmabhirmitrāvaruṇā uruṣyatām | mahaḥ sa rāya eṣate'ti dhanveva duritā ||

And may the divine Aśvins, the lords of pure (water), and Mitra and Varuṇa protect us with theirbodies; he (whom they protect) acquires ample riches, (and passes) through misfortunes as (a traveller through)a desert.

उत नो रुद्रा चिन्मृऴतामश्विना विश्वे देवासो रथस्पतिर्भगः । ऋभुर्वाज ऋभुक्षणः परिज्मा विश्ववेदसः ॥

uta no rudrā cinmṛḻatāmaśvinā viśve devāso rathaspatirbhagaḥ | ṛbhurvāja ṛbhukṣaṇaḥ parijmā viśvavedasaḥ ||

And may the Rudras, the Aśvins, make us happy, (may) the universal gods, the lord of chariots,Bhaga, Ṛbhu, Vāja, Ribhukṣaṇa, the circumambient (Vāyu) and the omniscient (deities make us happy).

ऋभुॠभुक्षा ऋभुर्विधतो मद आ ते हरी जूजुवानस्य वाजिना । दुष्टरं यस्य साम चिदृधग्यज्ञो न मानुषः ॥

ṛbhuṝbhukṣā ṛbhurvidhato mada ā te harī jūjuvānasya vājinā | duṣṭaraṃ yasya sāma cidṛdhagyajño na mānuṣaḥ ||

The mighty (Indra) is resplendent (through the sacrifice), the joy of the worshipper is resplendent;vigorous are the two horses of you rapidly approaching, whose hymn is unassailable (by the rākṣasas); (this)sacrifice is apart, not human.

कृधी नो अह्रयो देव सवितः स च स्तुषे मघोनाम् । सहो न इन्द्रो वह्निभिर्न्येषां चर्षणीनां चक्रं रश्मिं न योयुवे ॥

kṛdhī no ahrayo deva savitaḥ sa ca stuṣe maghonām | saho na indro vahnibhirnyeṣāṃ carṣaṇīnāṃ cakraṃ raśmiṃ na yoyuve ||

Make us, divine Savitā, free from shame; you are praised (by the priests) of the opulent; may Indra,accompanied by the bearers (of water), unite the strength of us men here, like the chariot-wheel and reinṣ

ऐषु द्यावापृथिवी धातं महदस्मे वीरेषु विश्वचर्षणि श्रवः । पृक्षं वाजस्य सातये पृक्षं रायोत तुर्वणे ॥

aiṣu dyāvāpṛthivī dhātaṃ mahadasme vīreṣu viśvacarṣaṇi śravaḥ | pṛkṣaṃ vājasya sātaye pṛkṣaṃ rāyota turvaṇe ||

Heaven and earth, grant to these our sons great renown, extending over all mankind; grantsustenance for the acquisition of strength, sustenance together with wealth for the overthrow (of enemies).

एतं शंसमिन्द्रास्मयुष्ट्वं कूचित्सन्तं सहसावन्नभिष्टये । सदा पाह्यभिष्टये मेदतां वेदता वसो ॥

etaṃ śaṃsamindrāsmayuṣṭvaṃ kūcitsantaṃ sahasāvannabhiṣṭaye | sadā pāhyabhiṣṭaye medatāṃ vedatā vaso ||

Mighty Indra, do you, who are well affected towards us, ever protect this worshipper wherever he maybe, so that he may attain his desire; instrumental uct me, Vasu, by your wisdom.

एतं मे स्तोमं तना न सूर्ये द्युतद्यामानं वावृधन्त नृणाम् । संवननं नाश्व्यं तष्टेवानपच्युतम् ॥

etaṃ me stomaṃ tanā na sūrye dyutadyāmānaṃ vāvṛdhanta nṛṇām | saṃvananaṃ nāśvyaṃ taṣṭevānapacyutam ||

May (the priests) strengthen this my hymn, the destroyer of the enemies (of the gods), of brilliant pathlike, the rays in the sun, as the carpenter (sends forth) the upright car.

वावर्त येषां राया युक्तैषां हिरण्ययी । नेमधिता न पौंस्या वृथेव विष्टान्ता ॥

vāvarta yeṣāṃ rāyā yuktaiṣāṃ hiraṇyayī | nemadhitā na pauṃsyā vṛtheva viṣṭāntā ||

Those whose (praise) arrives, accompanied by wealth, of them it is (as) a golden (ornament), likemanly powers in battle reaching the conclusion as it were, without an effort.

प्र तद्दुःशीमे पृथवाने वेने प्र रामे वोचमसुरे मघवत्सु । ये युक्त्वाय पञ्च शतास्मयु पथा विश्राव्येषाम् ॥

pra tadduḥśīme pṛthavāne vene pra rāme vocamasure maghavatsu | ye yuktvāya pañca śatāsmayu pathā viśrāvyeṣām ||

This I proclaim in the presence of Duśīma, Pṛthavāna, Vena, the mighty Rāma, and (other)opulent (princes); those who (come), having yoked five hundred (chariots), their affection for us is renowned onthe road.

अधीन्न्वत्र सप्ततिं च सप्त च । सद्यो दिदिष्ट तान्वः सद्यो दिदिष्ट पार्थ्यः सद्यो दिदिष्ट मायवः ॥

adhīnnvatra saptatiṃ ca sapta ca | sadyo didiṣṭa tānvaḥ sadyo didiṣṭa pārthyaḥ sadyo didiṣṭa māyavaḥ ||

Strongest of them Tānva promptly demanded seven and seventy (cows), Pārthya demandedall three names may refer to the same person n].
