[rv-10-25] • 11 श्लोकाः

भद्रं नो अपि वातय मनो दक्षमुत क्रतुम् । अधा ते सख्ये अन्धसो वि वो मदे रणन्गावो न यवसे विवक्षसे ॥

bhadraṃ no api vātaya mano dakṣamuta kratum | adhā te sakhye andhaso vi vo made raṇangāvo na yavase vivakṣase ||

Sanctify (Soma) our mind, our heart, our intellect; and may (your worshippers) delight in yourfriendship, like cattle in fresh pasture, in your exhilaration (produced) by the (sacrificial) food; for you are mighty.

हृदिस्पृशस्त आसते विश्वेषु सोम धामसु । अधा कामा इमे मम वि वो मदे वि तिष्ठन्ते वसूयवो विवक्षसे ॥

hṛdispṛśasta āsate viśveṣu soma dhāmasu | adhā kāmā ime mama vi vo made vi tiṣṭhante vasūyavo vivakṣase ||

They who seek to touch your heart, Soma, worship you in all plural ces; and these desires for wealth risefrom my heart at your exhilaration; for you are mighty.

उत व्रतानि सोम ते प्राहं मिनामि पाक्या । अधा पितेव सूनवे वि वो मदे मृऴा नो अभि चिद्वधाद्विवक्षसे ॥

uta vratāni soma te prāhaṃ mināmi pākyā | adhā piteva sūnave vi vo made mṛḻā no abhi cidvadhādvivakṣase ||

Verily, Soma, I practise all your observances with fullness; and as a father to his son, so do you inyour exhilaration make us happy; protect us from being killed (by our enemies); for you are mighty.

समु प्र यन्ति धीतयः सर्गासोऽवताँ इव । क्रतुं नः सोम जीवसे वि वो मदे धारया चमसाँ इव विवक्षसे ॥

samu pra yanti dhītayaḥ sargāso'vatā~ iva | kratuṃ naḥ soma jīvase vi vo made dhārayā camasā~ iva vivakṣase ||

Our praises converge (Soma) towards you, as herds towards a well; establish our pious acts, Soma,for us to live (long), as (the priest sets up) the cups for your exhilaration; for you are mighty.

तव त्ये सोम शक्तिभिर्निकामासो व्यृण्विरे । गृत्सस्य धीरास्तवसो वि वो मदे व्रजं गोमन्तमश्विनं विवक्षसे ॥

tava tye soma śaktibhirnikāmāso vyṛṇvire | gṛtsasya dhīrāstavaso vi vo made vrajaṃ gomantamaśvinaṃ vivakṣase ||

The intelligent (priests), whose desires are fixed (on the fruit of good works), with sacred rites showforth (the praises) of you, Soma, who are wise and powerful; do you, in your exhilaration, (grant us) pastures,abounding with cattle, and with horses; for you are mighty.

पशुं नः सोम रक्षसि पुरुत्रा विष्ठितं जगत् । समाकृणोषि जीवसे वि वो मदे विश्वा सम्पश्यन्भुवना विवक्षसे ॥

paśuṃ naḥ soma rakṣasi purutrā viṣṭhitaṃ jagat | samākṛṇoṣi jīvase vi vo made viśvā sampaśyanbhuvanā vivakṣase ||

You protect our cattle, Soma, and the variously occupied world, contemplating all existing beings; youprepare (the world) for them to live in for your exhilaration; for you are mighty.

त्वं नः सोम विश्वतो गोपा अदाभ्यो भव । सेध राजन्नप स्रिधो वि वो मदे मा नो दुःशंस ईशता विवक्षसे ॥

tvaṃ naḥ soma viśvato gopā adābhyo bhava | sedha rājannapa sridho vi vo made mā no duḥśaṃsa īśatā vivakṣase ||

Be on all sides our preserver, Soma, you, who are unassailable; drive away, monarch, our adversariesin your exhilaration, and let no calumniator rule over us; for you are mighty.

त्वं नः सोम सुक्रतुर्वयोधेयाय जागृहि । क्षेत्रवित्तरो मनुषो वि वो मदे द्रुहो नः पाह्यंहसो विवक्षसे ॥

tvaṃ naḥ soma sukraturvayodheyāya jāgṛhi | kṣetravittaro manuṣo vi vo made druho naḥ pāhyaṃhaso vivakṣase ||

Soma, author of good works, liberal granter of fields, be vigilant in supplying us with food; and in your

त्वं नो वृत्रहन्तमेन्द्रस्येन्दो शिवः सखा । यत्सीं हवन्ते समिथे वि वो मदे युध्यमानास्तोकसातौ विवक्षसे ॥

tvaṃ no vṛtrahantamendrasyendo śivaḥ sakhā | yatsīṃ havante samithe vi vo made yudhyamānāstokasātau vivakṣase ||

Utter destroyer of enemies, Soma, who are the auspicious friend of Indra, (protect us), when hostilewarriors everywhere call us to the combat that bestows offsprin; by your exhilration (preserve us); for you aremighty.

अयं घ स तुरो मद इन्द्रस्य वर्धत प्रियः । अयं कक्षीवतो महो वि वो मदे मतिं विप्रस्य वर्धयद्विवक्षसे ॥

ayaṃ gha sa turo mada indrasya vardhata priyaḥ | ayaṃ kakṣīvato maho vi vo made matiṃ viprasya vardhayadvivakṣase ||

Such is the Soma which, swiftly moving, exhilarating, acceptable to Indra, has given increase (to ourunderstanding); it has increased the intelligence of the great and pious Kakṣīvat in your exhilaration; for youare mighty.

अयं विप्राय दाशुषे वाजाँ इयर्ति गोमतः । अयं सप्तभ्य आ वरं वि वो मदे प्रान्धं श्रोणं च तारिषद्विवक्षसे ॥

ayaṃ viprāya dāśuṣe vājā~ iyarti gomataḥ | ayaṃ saptabhya ā varaṃ vi vo made prāndhaṃ śroṇaṃ ca tāriṣadvivakṣase ||

This Soma bestows, upon the pious donor of the libation, food with cattle; it gives wealth to the seven(priests) in the manifold exhilaration; it has restored (their faculties) to the blind, and the lame.
