ऋग्वेद 10.170 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

विभ्राड्बृहत्पिबतु सोम्यं मध्वायुर्दधद्यज्ञपतावविह्रुतम् । वातजूतो यो अभिरक्षति त्मना प्रजाः पुपोष पुरुधा वि राजति ॥

vibhrāḍbṛhatpibatu somyaṃ madhvāyurdadhadyajñapatāvavihrutam | vātajūto yo abhirakṣati tmanā prajāḥ pupoṣa purudhā vi rājati ||

Let the radiant (Sūrya) drink much sweet Soma, bestowing unbroken life upon the lord of thesacrifice; (Sūrya), who impelled by the wind protects his people of his own accord, nourishes them and shinesin various plural ces.

विभ्राड्बृहत्सुभृतं वाजसातमं धर्मन्दिवो धरुणे सत्यमर्पितम् । अमित्रहा वृत्रहा दस्युहन्तमं ज्योतिर्जज्ञे असुरहा सपत्नहा ॥

vibhrāḍbṛhatsubhṛtaṃ vājasātamaṃ dharmandivo dharuṇe satyamarpitam | amitrahā vṛtrahā dasyuhantamaṃ jyotirjajñe asurahā sapatnahā ||

The radiant light is born mighty, well-cherished, the abundant bestower of food, eternal, deposited inthe supporting sustainer of the sky, the slayer of adversaries, the slayer of the Vṛtras, abundantly slaying theDasyus, the slayer of the Asuras, the slayer of rivals.

इदं श्रेष्ठं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरुत्तमं विश्वजिद्धनजिदुच्यते बृहत् । विश्वभ्राड्भ्राजो महि सूर्यो दृश उरु पप्रथे सह ओजो अच्युतम् ॥

idaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ jyotiṣāṃ jyotiruttamaṃ viśvajiddhanajiducyate bṛhat | viśvabhrāḍbhrājo mahi sūryo dṛśa uru paprathe saha ojo acyutam ||

This light, the best of lights, the most excellent, is called the conqueror of all, the conqueror of wealth,mighty, all-illumining, radiant, mighty, Sūrya displays to view his vast power, his unfailing lustre.

विभ्राजञ्ज्योतिषा स्वरगच्छो रोचनं दिवः । येनेमा विश्वा भुवनान्याभृता विश्वकर्मणा विश्वदेव्यावता ॥

vibhrājañjyotiṣā svaragaccho rocanaṃ divaḥ | yenemā viśvā bhuvanānyābhṛtā viśvakarmaṇā viśvadevyāvatā ||

Illumining the whole (world) with your radiance, you have attained (Sūrya) the luminous region ofheaven, by which (radiance) animating all pious acts and addressed to the universal gods, all living beings arecherished.
