[rv-10-137] • 7 श्लोकाः

उत देवा अवहितं देवा उन्नयथा पुनः । उतागश्चक्रुषं देवा देवा जीवयथा पुनः ॥

uta devā avahitaṃ devā unnayathā punaḥ | utāgaścakruṣaṃ devā devā jīvayathā punaḥ ||

O gods, raise again the man, O gods, who has sunk; O gods, give life again to the man, O gods, who

द्वाविमौ वातौ वात आ सिन्धोरा परावतः । दक्षं ते अन्य आ वातु परान्यो वातु यद्रपः ॥

dvāvimau vātau vāta ā sindhorā parāvataḥ | dakṣaṃ te anya ā vātu parānyo vātu yadrapaḥ ||

These two winds blow to the regions which are far beyond the ocean; may the one bring you vigour,may the other blow away all evil.

आ वात वाहि भेषजं वि वात वाहि यद्रपः । त्वं हि विश्वभेषजो देवानां दूत ईयसे ॥

ā vāta vāhi bheṣajaṃ vi vāta vāhi yadrapaḥ | tvaṃ hi viśvabheṣajo devānāṃ dūta īyase ||

Breathe, wind, medicinal balm; blow away, wind, all evil; for you are the universal medicine, you moveas the messenger of the gods.

आ त्वागमं शंतातिभिरथो अरिष्टतातिभिः । दक्षं ते भद्रमाभार्षं परा यक्ष्मं सुवामि ते ॥

ā tvāgamaṃ śaṃtātibhiratho ariṣṭatātibhiḥ | dakṣaṃ te bhadramābhārṣaṃ parā yakṣmaṃ suvāmi te ||

(The wind speaks). I have come to you with plural asures and with protections; I have brought youfortunate vigour, I drive away your disease.

त्रायन्तामिह देवास्त्रायतां मरुतां गणः । त्रायन्तां विश्वा भूतानि यथायमरपा असत् ॥

trāyantāmiha devāstrāyatāṃ marutāṃ gaṇaḥ | trāyantāṃ viśvā bhūtāni yathāyamarapā asat ||

May the gods give (us) protection in this world, may the company of the Maruts protect us, may allbeings grant protection so that this (person n) may be free from sin.

आप इद्वा उ भेषजीरापो अमीवचातनीः । आपः सर्वस्य भेषजीस्तास्ते कृण्वन्तु भेषजम् ॥

āpa idvā u bheṣajīrāpo amīvacātanīḥ | āpaḥ sarvasya bheṣajīstāste kṛṇvantu bheṣajam ||

Waters verily are medicinal; waters are the dissipators of disease; waters are the medicines foreverything; may they act as medicine to you.

हस्ताभ्यां दशशाखाभ्यां जिह्वा वाचः पुरोगवी । अनामयित्नुभ्यां त्वा ताभ्यां त्वोप स्पृशामसि ॥

hastābhyāṃ daśaśākhābhyāṃ jihvā vācaḥ purogavī | anāmayitnubhyāṃ tvā tābhyāṃ tvopa spṛśāmasi ||

The tongue (being cleansed) by the ten-branched hands (of Prajāpati is) the forerunner of speech;with those (hands) the removers of disease we touch you.
