[rv-1-47] • 10 श्लोकाः

अयं वां मधुमत्तमः सुतः सोम ऋतावृधा । तमश्विना पिबतं तिरोअह्न्यं धत्तं रत्नानि दाशुषे ॥

ayaṃ vāṃ madhumattamaḥ sutaḥ soma ṛtāvṛdhā | tamaśvinā pibataṃ tiroahnyaṃ dhattaṃ ratnāni dāśuṣe ||

Aśvins, encouragers of sacrifice, this most sweet Soma is prepared for you; drink it of yesterday's expressing, and grant riches to the donor.

त्रिवन्धुरेण त्रिवृता सुपेशसा रथेना यातमश्विना । कण्वासो वां ब्रह्म कृण्वन्त्यध्वरे तेषां सु शृणुतं हवम् ॥

trivandhureṇa trivṛtā supeśasā rathenā yātamaśvinā | kaṇvāso vāṃ brahma kṛṇvantyadhvare teṣāṃ su śṛṇutaṃ havam ||

Come, Aśvins, with your three-columned triangular car; the Kaṇvas repeat your praise at the sacrifice; graciously hear their invocation.

अश्विना मधुमत्तमं पातं सोममृतावृधा । अथाद्य दस्रा वसु बिभ्रता रथे दाश्वांसमुप गच्छतम् ॥

aśvinā madhumattamaṃ pātaṃ somamṛtāvṛdhā | athādya dasrā vasu bibhratā rathe dāśvāṃsamupa gacchatam ||

Aśvins, encouragers of sacrifice, drink this most sweet Soma; approach today the giver of the offering, you who are of plural asing aspects and bearers of wealth.

त्रिषधस्थे बर्हिषि विश्ववेदसा मध्वा यज्ञं मिमिक्षतम् । कण्वासो वां सुतसोमा अभिद्यवो युवां हवन्ते अश्विना ॥

triṣadhasthe barhiṣi viśvavedasā madhvā yajñaṃ mimikṣatam | kaṇvāso vāṃ sutasomā abhidyavo yuvāṃ havante aśvinā ||

Omniscient Aśvins, stationed on the thrice-heaped sacred grass, sprinkle the sacrifice with the sweet juice; the illustrious Kaṇvas, with effused libations, invoke you.

याभिः कण्वमभिष्टिभिः प्रावतं युवमश्विना । ताभिः ष्वस्माँ अवतं शुभस्पती पातं सोममृतावृधा ॥

yābhiḥ kaṇvamabhiṣṭibhiḥ prāvataṃ yuvamaśvinā | tābhiḥ ṣvasmā~ avataṃ śubhaspatī pātaṃ somamṛtāvṛdhā ||

With such desired aids as you protected Kaṇva with, do you, cherish of pious acts, preserve us; encouragers of sacrifice, drink the Soma.

सुदासे दस्रा वसु बिभ्रता रथे पृक्षो वहतमश्विना । रयिं समुद्रादुत वा दिवस्पर्यस्मे धत्तं पुरुस्पृहम् ॥

sudāse dasrā vasu bibhratā rathe pṛkṣo vahatamaśvinā | rayiṃ samudrāduta vā divasparyasme dhattaṃ puruspṛham ||

Good-looking Aśvins, as you brought in your car, bearers of wealth, abundance to Sudās, so bring to us in the riches that many covet, whether from the firmament or the sky beyond.

यन्नासत्या परावति यद्वा स्थो अधि तुर्वशे । अतो रथेन सुवृता न आ गतं साकं सूर्यस्य रश्मिभिः ॥

yannāsatyā parāvati yadvā stho adhi turvaśe | ato rathena suvṛtā na ā gataṃ sākaṃ sūryasya raśmibhiḥ ||

Nāsatyas, whether you abide far off or close at hand, come to us in your well-constructed car, with the rays of the sun.

अर्वाञ्चा वां सप्तयोऽध्वरश्रियो वहन्तु सवनेदुप । इषं पृञ्चन्ता सुकृते सुदानव आ बर्हिः सीदतं नरा ॥

arvāñcā vāṃ saptayo'dhvaraśriyo vahantu savanedupa | iṣaṃ pṛñcantā sukṛte sudānava ā barhiḥ sīdataṃ narā ||

Let your coursers, the grace of the sacrifice, bring you to be present at our rite; guides (of men) bestowing food upon the pious and liberal donor (of the offering), sit down on the sacred grass.

तेन नासत्या गतं रथेन सूर्यत्वचा । येन शश्वदूहथुर्दाशुषे वसु मध्वः सोमस्य पीतये ॥

tena nāsatyā gataṃ rathena sūryatvacā | yena śaśvadūhathurdāśuṣe vasu madhvaḥ somasya pītaye ||

Come, Nāsatyas, with your sun-clad chariot, in which you have ever conveyed wealth to the donor (of the offering), to drink of the sweet Soma.

उक्थेभिरर्वागवसे पुरूवसू अर्कैश्च नि ह्वयामहे । शश्वत्कण्वानां सदसि प्रिये हि कं सोमं पपथुरश्विना ॥

ukthebhirarvāgavase purūvasū arkaiśca ni hvayāmahe | śaśvatkaṇvānāṃ sadasi priye hi kaṃ somaṃ papathuraśvinā ||

We invoke with chanted and recited hymns, the very affluent Aśvins, to be present for our protection. Have you not ever drunk the Soma in the favoured dwelling of the Kaṇvas?
