[rv-8-95] • 9 श्लोकाः

आ त्वा गिरो रथीरिवास्थुः सुतेषु गिर्वणः । अभि त्वा समनूषतेन्द्र वत्सं न मातरः ॥

ā tvā giro rathīrivāsthuḥ suteṣu girvaṇaḥ | abhi tvā samanūṣatendra vatsaṃ na mātaraḥ ||

O Indra, worthy of praise when the Soma is effused our songs hasten to you as charioteer, they lowtowards you as cows towards their calves.

आ त्वा शुक्रा अचुच्यवुः सुतास इन्द्र गिर्वणः । पिबा त्वस्यान्धस इन्द्र विश्वासु ते हितम् ॥

ā tvā śukrā acucyavuḥ sutāsa indra girvaṇaḥ | pibā tvasyāndhasa indra viśvāsu te hitam ||

Indra worthy of praise, let the bright Soma-libations come to you; drink your portion of the Soma; Indra,in all plural ces it is fit for you.

पिबा सोमं मदाय कमिन्द्र श्येनाभृतं सुतम् । त्वं हि शश्वतीनां पती राजा विशामसि ॥

pibā somaṃ madāya kamindra śyenābhṛtaṃ sutam | tvaṃ hi śaśvatīnāṃ patī rājā viśāmasi ||

Drink to your fill, Indra, the effused Soma brought, by the hawk, you are the lord of all the divine hosts,you are the self-resplendent.

श्रुधी हवं तिरश्च्या इन्द्र यस्त्वा सपर्यति । सुवीर्यस्य गोमतो रायस्पूर्धि महाँ असि ॥

śrudhī havaṃ tiraścyā indra yastvā saparyati | suvīryasya gomato rāyaspūrdhi mahā~ asi ||

Hear, Indra, the prayer of Tiraści who worships you, and satisfy him with wealth bringing gallantoffspring and cattle-- for you are mighty.

इन्द्र यस्ते नवीयसीं गिरं मन्द्रामजीजनत् । चिकित्विन्मनसं धियं प्रत्नामृतस्य पिप्युषीम् ॥

indra yaste navīyasīṃ giraṃ mandrāmajījanat | cikitvinmanasaṃ dhiyaṃ pratnāmṛtasya pipyuṣīm ||

To him who has made for you this newest joy-giving hymn, do you, Indra, (extend) your ancient truthfulprovidence to which all hearts are known.

तमु ष्टवाम यं गिर इन्द्रमुक्थानि वावृधुः । पुरूण्यस्य पौंस्या सिषासन्तो वनामहे ॥

tamu ṣṭavāma yaṃ gira indramukthāni vāvṛdhuḥ | purūṇyasya pauṃsyā siṣāsanto vanāmahe ||

Let us praise that Indra whom our chants and hymns have magnified; we worship him, desirous tohonour his many deeds of might.

एतो न्विन्द्रं स्तवाम शुद्धं शुद्धेन साम्ना । शुद्धैरुक्थैर्वावृध्वांसं शुद्ध आशीर्वान्ममत्तु ॥

eto nvindraṃ stavāma śuddhaṃ śuddhena sāmnā | śuddhairukthairvāvṛdhvāṃsaṃ śuddha āśīrvānmamattu ||

Come let us praise the purified Indra with a pure Sāman and with pure recited hymns; let the pure(Soma) mixed with milk gladden him waxing strong.

इन्द्र शुद्धो न आ गहि शुद्धः शुद्धाभिरूतिभिः । शुद्धो रयिं नि धारय शुद्धो ममद्धि सोम्यः ॥

indra śuddho na ā gahi śuddhaḥ śuddhābhirūtibhiḥ | śuddho rayiṃ ni dhāraya śuddho mamaddhi somyaḥ ||

Come to us, Indra, purified; purified with your pure protecting hosts; purified establish wealth in us;purified and now worthy of the Soma, rejoice.

इन्द्र शुद्धो हि नो रयिं शुद्धो रत्नानि दाशुषे । शुद्धो वृत्राणि जिघ्नसे शुद्धो वाजं सिषाससि ॥

indra śuddho hi no rayiṃ śuddho ratnāni dāśuṣe | śuddho vṛtrāṇi jighnase śuddho vājaṃ siṣāsasi ||

Purified, Indra, give us wealth; purified give to your worshipper precious things; purified you smite yourenemies; purified you desire to give us food.
