ऋग्वेद 8.90 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

आ नो विश्वासु हव्य इन्द्रः समत्सु भूषतु । उप ब्रह्माणि सवनानि वृत्रहा परमज्या ऋचीषमः ॥

ā no viśvāsu havya indraḥ samatsu bhūṣatu | upa brahmāṇi savanāni vṛtrahā paramajyā ṛcīṣamaḥ ||

May Indra, who is to be invoked in all battles regard our hykns and our libationsl he the slayer of Vṛtra,who crushes the mightiest (foes), who is worthy of his praise.

त्वं दाता प्रथमो राधसामस्यसि सत्य ईशानकृत् । तुविद्युम्नस्य युज्या वृणीमहे पुत्रस्य शवसो महः ॥

tvaṃ dātā prathamo rādhasāmasyasi satya īśānakṛt | tuvidyumnasya yujyā vṛṇīmahe putrasya śavaso mahaḥ ||

You are the chief giver of wealth, you are truthful and make your worshippers rulers; we solicit(blessings) worthy of you, lord of vast riches, mighty son of strength.

ब्रह्मा त इन्द्र गिर्वणः क्रियन्ते अनतिद्भुता । इमा जुषस्व हर्यश्व योजनेन्द्र या ते अमन्महि ॥

brahmā ta indra girvaṇaḥ kriyante anatidbhutā | imā juṣasva haryaśva yojanendra yā te amanmahi ||

Indra, who are the object of hymns, unexaggerated praises are offered by us; lord of bay steeds, acceptthese fitting hymns, which we have meditated for you.

त्वं हि सत्यो मघवन्ननानतो वृत्रा भूरि न्यृञ्जसे । स त्वं शविष्ठ वज्रहस्त दाशुषेऽर्वाञ्चं रयिमा कृधि ॥

tvaṃ hi satyo maghavannanānato vṛtrā bhūri nyṛñjase | sa tvaṃ śaviṣṭha vajrahasta dāśuṣe'rvāñcaṃ rayimā kṛdhi ||

You are truthful, Maghavan, unhumbled yourself, you humble many enemies; most mighty thunderer,cause wealth to meet your worshipper.

त्वमिन्द्र यशा अस्यृजीषी शवसस्पते । त्वं वृत्राणि हंस्यप्रतीन्येक इदनुत्ता चर्षणीधृता ॥

tvamindra yaśā asyṛjīṣī śavasaspate | tvaṃ vṛtrāṇi haṃsyapratīnyeka idanuttā carṣaṇīdhṛtā ||

You, Indra, lord of strength, are the glorious possessor of the offered Soma, alone with (yourthunderbolt), that protector of men, you smite the enemies that none else could oppose or drive away.

तमु त्वा नूनमसुर प्रचेतसं राधो भागमिवेमहे । महीव कृत्तिः शरणा त इन्द्र प्र ते सुम्ना नो अश्नवन् ॥

tamu tvā nūnamasura pracetasaṃ rādho bhāgamivemahe | mahīva kṛttiḥ śaraṇā ta indra pra te sumnā no aśnavan ||

Living one, who possess supreme knowledge, we verily ask you for wealth as though it were aninheritance your abode (in heaven), Indra, is vast like your glory; may your blessings fill us.
