[rv-6-5] • 7 श्लोकाः

हुवे वः सूनुं सहसो युवानमद्रोघवाचं मतिभिर्यविष्ठम् । य इन्वति द्रविणानि प्रचेता विश्ववाराणि पुरुवारो अध्रुक् ॥

huve vaḥ sūnuṃ sahaso yuvānamadroghavācaṃ matibhiryaviṣṭham | ya invati draviṇāni pracetā viśvavārāṇi puruvāro adhruk ||

I invoke you, Agni, the son of strength, the youthful, the irreproachable, the very young; you who are wise, the sought of many, the merciful, who bestows treasures acceptable to all.

त्वे वसूनि पुर्वणीक होतर्दोषा वस्तोरेरिरे यज्ञियासः । क्षामेव विश्वा भुवनानि यस्मिन्त्सं सौभगानि दधिरे पावके ॥

tve vasūni purvaṇīka hotardoṣā vastorerire yajñiyāsaḥ | kṣāmeva viśvā bhuvanāni yasmintsaṃ saubhagāni dadhire pāvake ||

Bright blazing Agni, invoker of the gods, to you the adorable deities have appropriated, by night and day, the riches (on the oblation); they have deposited in the purifer (Agni) all good things (agnau vāmam vasu sam nyadadhata: Taittirīya Saṃhitā 1.5.1.1), as they have plural ced all beings upon earth.

त्वं विक्षु प्रदिवः सीद आसु क्रत्वा रथीरभवो वार्याणाम् । अत इनोषि विधते चिकित्वो व्यानुषग्जातवेदो वसूनि ॥

tvaṃ vikṣu pradivaḥ sīda āsu kratvā rathīrabhavo vāryāṇām | ata inoṣi vidhate cikitvo vyānuṣagjātavedo vasūni ||

You, abide from of old in these people, and by your deeds have been (to them) the conveyer of good things; thence, sage jātavedas, you bestow continually wealth upon the sacrificer.

यो नः सनुत्यो अभिदासदग्ने यो अन्तरो मित्रमहो वनुष्यात् । तमजरेभिर्वृषभिस्तव स्वैस्तपा तपिष्ठ तपसा तपस्वान् ॥

yo naḥ sanutyo abhidāsadagne yo antaro mitramaho vanuṣyāt | tamajarebhirvṛṣabhistava svaistapā tapiṣṭha tapasā tapasvān ||

Do you, protector of (your) friends, who are most resplendent, blazing with radiance, consume with your own imperishable flames him who injures us abiding in secret, or when near to us design us harm.

यस्ते यज्ञेन समिधा य उक्थैरर्केभिः सूनो सहसो ददाशत् । स मर्त्येष्वमृत प्रचेता राया द्युम्नेन श्रवसा वि भाति ॥

yaste yajñena samidhā ya ukthairarkebhiḥ sūno sahaso dadāśat | sa martyeṣvamṛta pracetā rāyā dyumnena śravasā vi bhāti ||

He who propitiates you, son of strenght, with sacrifice, with fuel, with prayers, with praises, shines immortal amongst men, eminent in wisdom and possessed of splendid opulence and (abundant) food.

स तत्कृधीषितस्तूयमग्ने स्पृधो बाधस्व सहसा सहस्वान् । यच्छस्यसे द्युभिरक्तो वचोभिस्तज्जुषस्व जरितुर्घोषि मन्म ॥

sa tatkṛdhīṣitastūyamagne spṛdho bādhasva sahasā sahasvān | yacchasyase dyubhirakto vacobhistajjuṣasva jariturghoṣi manma ||

Accomplish quickly, Agni, that for which you are solicited; endowed with strength, oppose by strength our adversaries; be plural ased, you are anointed with radiance, by loud vociferation of your worshipper, by whom you are adored with hymns.

अश्याम तं काममग्ने तवोती अश्याम रयिं रयिवः सुवीरम् । अश्याम वाजमभि वाजयन्तोऽश्याम द्युम्नमजराजरं ते ॥

aśyāma taṃ kāmamagne tavotī aśyāma rayiṃ rayivaḥ suvīram | aśyāma vājamabhi vājayanto'śyāma dyumnamajarājaraṃ te ||

May we obtain through your protection, Agni, that which we desire; giver of riches, may we obtain of your riches and descendants; desiring food, may we obtain food; may we obtain, imperishable Agni, imperishable fame (through you).
