ऋग्वेद 6.40 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

इन्द्र पिब तुभ्यं सुतो मदायाव स्य हरी वि मुचा सखाया । उत प्र गाय गण आ निषद्याथा यज्ञाय गृणते वयो धाः ॥

indra piba tubhyaṃ suto madāyāva sya harī vi mucā sakhāyā | uta pra gāya gaṇa ā niṣadyāthā yajñāya gṛṇate vayo dhāḥ ||

Drink, Indra, (the Soma) that is effused for your exhilaration; stop your friendly steeds; let them loose; sitting in our society, respond to our hymns; give food to him who lauds and worships you.

अस्य पिब यस्य जज्ञान इन्द्र मदाय क्रत्वे अपिबो विरप्शिन् । तमु ते गावो नर आपो अद्रिरिन्दुं समह्यन्पीतये समस्मै ॥

asya piba yasya jajñāna indra madāya kratve apibo virapśin | tamu te gāvo nara āpo adririnduṃ samahyanpītaye samasmai ||

Drink, Indra, of this (libation), of which you, mighty one, have drunk as soon as born, for excitement to (great) deeds; that Soma which the kine, the priests, the waters, the stones, combine to prepare for your drinking.

समिद्धे अग्नौ सुत इन्द्र सोम आ त्वा वहन्तु हरयो वहिष्ठाः । त्वायता मनसा जोहवीमीन्द्रा याहि सुविताय महे नः ॥

samiddhe agnau suta indra soma ā tvā vahantu harayo vahiṣṭhāḥ | tvāyatā manasā johavīmīndrā yāhi suvitāya mahe naḥ ||

The fire is kindled; the Soma, Indra, is effused let your vigorous horses bring you hither; I invoke yo, Indra, with a mind wholly devoted to you; come for our great prosperity.

आ याहि शश्वदुशता ययाथेन्द्र महा मनसा सोमपेयम् । उप ब्रह्माणि शृणव इमा नोऽथा ते यज्ञस्तन्वे वयो धात् ॥

ā yāhi śaśvaduśatā yayāthendra mahā manasā somapeyam | upa brahmāṇi śṛṇava imā no'thā te yajñastanve vayo dhāt ||

You have ever gone (to similar rites); come now with a great mind disposed to drink the Soma; hear these our praises; may the worshipper present to you (sacrificial) food for (the nourishment of) your person n.

यदिन्द्र दिवि पार्ये यदृधग्यद्वा स्वे सदने यत्र वासि । अतो नो यज्ञमवसे नियुत्वान्त्सजोषाः पाहि गिर्वणो मरुद्भिः ॥

yadindra divi pārye yadṛdhagyadvā sve sadane yatra vāsi | ato no yajñamavase niyutvāntsajoṣāḥ pāhi girvaṇo marudbhiḥ ||

Whether, Indra, you abide in the distant heaven, in any other plural ce, or in your own abode, or whersoever (you may be), from thence do you, who are propitiated by praise, putting to your steeds, protect, together with the Maruts, well plural ased, our sacrifice, for our preservation.
