ऋग्वेद 6.36 (श्लोक 5) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

सत्रा मदासस्तव विश्वजन्याः सत्रा रायोऽध ये पार्थिवासः । सत्रा वाजानामभवो विभक्ता यद्देवेषु धारयथा असुर्यम् ॥

satrā madāsastava viśvajanyāḥ satrā rāyo'dha ye pārthivāsaḥ | satrā vājānāmabhavo vibhaktā yaddeveṣu dhārayathā asuryam ||

Truly are your exhilarations beneficial to all men; truly are the riches which exist on earth (beneficial to all men); truly are you the distributor of food; wherefore you maintain vigour among the gods.

अनु प्र येजे जन ओजो अस्य सत्रा दधिरे अनु वीर्याय । स्यूमगृभे दुधयेऽर्वते च क्रतुं वृञ्जन्त्यपि वृत्रहत्ये ॥

anu pra yeje jana ojo asya satrā dadhire anu vīryāya | syūmagṛbhe dudhaye'rvate ca kratuṃ vṛñjantyapi vṛtrahatye ||

The worshipper praises especially the strength of that Indra, verily they rely upon him for heroic deeds; they offer sacrifices to him as the seizer of an uninterrupted series of foes, their assailant, their subduer, and also for the destruction of Vṛtra.

तं सध्रीचीरूतयो वृष्ण्यानि पौंस्यानि नियुतः सश्चुरिन्द्रम् । समुद्रं न सिन्धव उक्थशुष्मा उरुव्यचसं गिर आ विशन्ति ॥

taṃ sadhrīcīrūtayo vṛṣṇyāni pauṃsyāni niyutaḥ saścurindram | samudraṃ na sindhava ukthaśuṣmā uruvyacasaṃ gira ā viśanti ||

The associated Maruts, heroic energies, virile strength, and the Niyut steeds, attend upon Indra, and praises powerful in sacred song centre in him as rivers flow into the ocean.

स रायस्खामुप सृजा गृणानः पुरुश्चन्द्रस्य त्वमिन्द्र वस्वः । पतिर्बभूथासमो जनानामेको विश्वस्य भुवनस्य राजा ॥

sa rāyaskhāmupa sṛjā gṛṇānaḥ puruścandrasya tvamindra vasvaḥ | patirbabhūthāsamo janānāmeko viśvasya bhuvanasya rājā ||

Glorified by us, Indra, let flow the stream of much delighting, home-conferring affluence, for you are the unequalled lord of men, the sole sovereign of all the world.

स तु श्रुधि श्रुत्या यो दुवोयुर्द्यौर्न भूमाभि रायो अर्यः । असो यथा नः शवसा चकानो युगेयुगे वयसा चेकितानः ॥

sa tu śrudhi śrutyā yo duvoyurdyaurna bhūmābhi rāyo aryaḥ | aso yathā naḥ śavasā cakāno yugeyuge vayasā cekitānaḥ ||

Hear, Indra, (the praises) that may be heard (by you), you, who are gratified by our adoration, and, like the sun, (prevail) over the ample riches of the enemy; endowed with strength, being glorified in every age, rendered comprehensible by (sacrificial) food, be to us no other (than as such as you have been).
