ऋग्वेद 6.31 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

अभूरेको रयिपते रयीणामा हस्तयोरधिथा इन्द्र कृष्टीः । वि तोके अप्सु तनये च सूरेऽवोचन्त चर्षणयो विवाचः ॥

abhūreko rayipate rayīṇāmā hastayoradhithā indra kṛṣṭīḥ | vi toke apsu tanaye ca sūre'vocanta carṣaṇayo vivācaḥ ||

You, lord of riches, are the chief (soverign) over riches; you hold men in your two hands, and men glorify you with various praises for (the sake of obtaining) sons, and valiant grandsons, and rain.

त्वद्भियेन्द्र पार्थिवानि विश्वाच्युता चिच्च्यावयन्ते रजांसि । द्यावाक्षामा पर्वतासो वनानि विश्वं दृऴ्हं भयते अज्मन्ना ते ॥

tvadbhiyendra pārthivāni viśvācyutā ciccyāvayante rajāṃsi | dyāvākṣāmā parvatāso vanāni viśvaṃ dṛḻhaṃ bhayate ajmannā te ||

Through fear of you, Indra, all the regions of the firmamet cause the unfallen (rain) to descend; the heavens, the earth, the mountains, the forests, all the solid (universe) is alarmed at your approach.

त्वं कुत्सेनाभि शुष्णमिन्द्राशुषं युध्य कुयवं गविष्टौ । दश प्रपित्वे अध सूर्यस्य मुषायश्चक्रमविवे रपांसि ॥

tvaṃ kutsenābhi śuṣṇamindrāśuṣaṃ yudhya kuyavaṃ gaviṣṭau | daśa prapitve adha sūryasya muṣāyaścakramavive rapāṃsi ||

You, Indra, with Kutsa, have warred against the inexhaustible Śuṣṇa; you have overthrown Kuyava in battle; in conflict you have carried off the wheel (of the chariot) of the sun; you have driven away the malignant (spirits).

त्वं शतान्यव शम्बरस्य पुरो जघन्थाप्रतीनि दस्योः । अशिक्षो यत्र शच्या शचीवो दिवोदासाय सुन्वते सुतक्रे भरद्वाजाय गृणते वसूनि ॥

tvaṃ śatānyava śambarasya puro jaghanthāpratīni dasyoḥ | aśikṣo yatra śacyā śacīvo divodāsāya sunvate sutakre bharadvājāya gṛṇate vasūni ||

You have destroyed the hundred impregnable cities of the Dasyu, Śambara, when sagacious Indra, you, who are brought by the libation, have bestowed in your liberality riches upon Divodāsa presenting to you libations, and upon Bharadvāja hymning your praise.

स सत्यसत्वन्महते रणाय रथमा तिष्ठ तुविनृम्ण भीमम् । याहि प्रपथिन्नवसोप मद्रिक्प्र च श्रुत श्रावय चर्षणिभ्यः ॥

sa satyasatvanmahate raṇāya rathamā tiṣṭha tuvinṛmṇa bhīmam | yāhi prapathinnavasopa madrikpra ca śruta śrāvaya carṣaṇibhyaḥ ||

Leader of true heroes, possessor of infinite wealth, mount your formidable car for the arduous conflict; come to me, pursuer of a forward path, for my protection; do you who are renowned, proclaim (our renown) among men.
