ऋग्वेद 5.77 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

प्रातर्यावाणा प्रथमा यजध्वं पुरा गृध्रादररुषः पिबातः । प्रातर्हि यज्ञमश्विना दधाते प्र शंसन्ति कवयः पूर्वभाजः ॥

prātaryāvāṇā prathamā yajadhvaṃ purā gṛdhrādararuṣaḥ pibātaḥ | prātarhi yajñamaśvinā dadhāte pra śaṃsanti kavayaḥ pūrvabhājaḥ ||

Worship the two who come first (of the gods) at dawn; let them drink before the greedy withholders (of the offering); for the Aśvins verily claim the morning sacrifice; the ardent sages praised them (at dawn).

प्रातर्यजध्वमश्विना हिनोत न सायमस्ति देवया अजुष्टम् । उतान्यो अस्मद्यजते वि चावः पूर्वःपूर्वो यजमानो वनीयान् ॥

prātaryajadhvamaśvinā hinota na sāyamasti devayā ajuṣṭam | utānyo asmadyajate vi cāvaḥ pūrvaḥpūrvo yajamāno vanīyān ||

WOrship the Aśvins at early dawn; offer their oblations; the evening is not for the gods; it is unacceptable to them; and whether it be any other than ourselves who worship them or propitiates them, the worshipper who is foremost (in his devotion) is the most approved of.

हिरण्यत्वङ्मधुवर्णो घृतस्नुः पृक्षो वहन्ना रथो वर्तते वाम् । मनोजवा अश्विना वातरंहा येनातियाथो दुरितानि विश्वा ॥

hiraṇyatvaṅmadhuvarṇo ghṛtasnuḥ pṛkṣo vahannā ratho vartate vām | manojavā aśvinā vātaraṃhā yenātiyātho duritāni viśvā ||

Your car, Aśvins, approaches, coated with gold, honey-tinted, water-shedding, laden with ambrosia, as quick as thought, as rapid as the wind, wherewith you pass over all obstacles.

यो भूयिष्ठं नासत्याभ्यां विवेष चनिष्ठं पित्वो ररते विभागे । स तोकमस्य पीपरच्छमीभिरनूर्ध्वभासः सदमित्तुतुर्यात् ॥

yo bhūyiṣṭhaṃ nāsatyābhyāṃ viveṣa caniṣṭhaṃ pitvo rarate vibhāge | sa tokamasya pīparacchamībhiranūrdhvabhāsaḥ sadamittuturyāt ||

He who, in the appointment (of the offerings), presents to the Nāsatyas the most ample (share) of (the sacrificial) food, who gives (them) the largest portion of the viands, secures, by his acts, the welfare of his son, and ever has the advantage of those who light no sacred fires.

समश्विनोरवसा नूतनेन मयोभुवा सुप्रणीती गमेम । आ नो रयिं वहतमोत वीराना विश्वान्यमृता सौभगानि ॥

samaśvinoravasā nūtanena mayobhuvā supraṇītī gamema | ā no rayiṃ vahatamota vīrānā viśvānyamṛtā saubhagāni ||

May we be united with the Aśvins, by their special protection, which is the source of happiness, the guide to good; bestow upon us, immortals, wealth and all good things.
