[rv-5-6] • 10 श्लोकाः

अग्निं तं मन्ये यो वसुरस्तं यं यन्ति धेनवः । अस्तमर्वन्त आशवोऽस्तं नित्यासो वाजिन इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

agniṃ taṃ manye yo vasurastaṃ yaṃ yanti dhenavaḥ | astamarvanta āśavo'staṃ nityāso vājina iṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

I glorify that Agni who is the giver of dwellings; to whom, as to their home, the kine, the light-faced steeds, the constant offers of oblations, repair; do you, (Agni), bring food to your adorers.

सो अग्निर्यो वसुर्गृणे सं यमायन्ति धेनवः । समर्वन्तो रघुद्रुवः सं सुजातासः सूरय इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

so agniryo vasurgṛṇe saṃ yamāyanti dhenavaḥ | samarvanto raghudruvaḥ saṃ sujātāsaḥ sūraya iṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

He is Agni, who is praised as the giver of dwellings, to whom the kine, the light-faced steeds, the well-born, devout worshippers repair; do you Agni, bring food to your adorers.

अग्निर्हि वाजिनं विशे ददाति विश्वचर्षणिः । अग्नी राये स्वाभुवं स प्रीतो याति वार्यमिषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

agnirhi vājinaṃ viśe dadāti viśvacarṣaṇiḥ | agnī rāye svābhuvaṃ sa prīto yāti vāryamiṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

Agni, the all-beholding, gives, verily, to the man (who worships him, a son) possessing abundant food; Agni, when propitiated proceeds (to bestow) that wealth which is of its own nature precious; do you, Agni, bring food to your adorers.

आ ते अग्न इधीमहि द्युमन्तं देवाजरम् । यद्ध स्या ते पनीयसी समिद्दीदयति द्यवीषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

ā te agna idhīmahi dyumantaṃ devājaram | yaddha syā te panīyasī samiddīdayati dyavīṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

We kindle you, divine Agni, bright, undecaying so that your glorious blaze shines in heaven; do you bring food to your adorers.

आ ते अग्न ऋचा हविः शुक्रस्य शोचिषस्पते । सुश्चन्द्र दस्म विश्पते हव्यवाट् तुभ्यं हूयत इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

ā te agna ṛcā haviḥ śukrasya śociṣaspate | suścandra dasma viśpate havyavāṭ tubhyaṃ hūyata iṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

To you, radiant Agni, lord of light, giver of plural asure, destroyer (of foes), protector of man, the bearer of oblations, to you the oblation is offered with the sacred verse; do you bring to your adorers.

प्रो त्ये अग्नयोऽग्निषु विश्वं पुष्यन्ति वार्यम् । ते हिन्विरे त इन्विरे त इषण्यन्त्यानुषगिषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

pro tye agnayo'gniṣu viśvaṃ puṣyanti vāryam | te hinvire ta invire ta iṣaṇyantyānuṣagiṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

These fires cherish all that is precious in the fires (of sacrifice); they give delight; they spread abroad; they crave perpetually (sacrificial) food; bring, Agni, food to your adorers.

तव त्ये अग्ने अर्चयो महि व्राधन्त वाजिनः । ये पत्वभिः शफानां व्रजा भुरन्त गोनामिषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

tava tye agne arcayo mahi vrādhanta vājinaḥ | ye patvabhiḥ śaphānāṃ vrajā bhuranta gonāmiṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

These your flames Agni, fed with abundant food, increase, as, by their descent, they seek the pastures of the hoofed cattle; bring, Agni, food to your adorers.

नवा नो अग्न आ भर स्तोतृभ्यः सुक्षितीरिषः । ते स्याम य आनृचुस्त्वादूतासो दमेदम इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

navā no agna ā bhara stotṛbhyaḥ sukṣitīriṣaḥ | te syāma ya ānṛcustvādūtāso damedama iṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

Grant, Agni, to us who praise you, new dwellings, and (abundant) food; may we be those who worship you having you for a messenger (to the gods) in every house; bring Agni, food to your adorers.

उभे सुश्चन्द्र सर्पिषो दर्वी श्रीणीष आसनि । उतो न उत्पुपूर्या उक्थेषु शवसस्पत इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

ubhe suścandra sarpiṣo darvī śrīṇīṣa āsani | uto na utpupūryā uktheṣu śavasaspata iṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

Giver of delight, you receive into your mouth the two ladles (full) of butter; so may you fulfil (our desires), lord of strength, at our solemn rites; bring, Agni, food to your adorers.

एवाँ अग्निमजुर्यमुर्गीर्भिर्यज्ञेभिरानुषक् । दधदस्मे सुवीर्यमुत त्यदाश्वश्व्यमिषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर ॥

evā~ agnimajuryamurgīrbhiryajñebhirānuṣak | dadhadasme suvīryamuta tyadāśvaśvyamiṣaṃ stotṛbhya ā bhara ||

Thus have they repaired to Agni with praises and with sacrifices successively, and have established (the manner of his worship); and he has given us male descendants, and wealth of fleet horses; bring, Agni, food to your adorers.
