ऋग्वेद 5.28 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

समिद्धो अग्निर्दिवि शोचिरश्रेत्प्रत्यङ्ङुषसमुर्विया वि भाति । एति प्राची विश्ववारा नमोभिर्देवाँ ईऴाना हविषा घृताची ॥

samiddho agnirdivi śociraśretpratyaṅṅuṣasamurviyā vi bhāti | eti prācī viśvavārā namobhirdevā~ īḻānā haviṣā ghṛtācī ||

Agni, when kindled, spreads lustre through the firmament, and shines widely in the presence of the dawn; Viśvavārā, facing the east, glorifying the gods with praises, and bearing the ladle with the oblation, proceeds (to the sacred fire).

समिध्यमानो अमृतस्य राजसि हविष्कृण्वन्तं सचसे स्वस्तये । विश्वं स धत्ते द्रविणं यमिन्वस्यातिथ्यमग्ने नि च धत्त इत्पुरः ॥

samidhyamāno amṛtasya rājasi haviṣkṛṇvantaṃ sacase svastaye | viśvaṃ sa dhatte draviṇaṃ yaminvasyātithyamagne ni ca dhatta itpuraḥ ||

When about to be kindled, Agni, you rule over ambrosial (water); you are present with the offerer of the oblation for his welfare; he to whom you repair acquires universal wealth; he plural ces you, Agni the dues of hospitality.

अग्ने शर्ध महते सौभगाय तव द्युम्नान्युत्तमानि सन्तु । सं जास्पत्यं सुयममा कृणुष्व शत्रूयतामभि तिष्ठा महांसि ॥

agne śardha mahate saubhagāya tava dyumnānyuttamāni santu | saṃ jāspatyaṃ suyamamā kṛṇuṣva śatrūyatāmabhi tiṣṭhā mahāṃsi ||

Repress, Agni, (our foes to ensure our) exceeding prosperity; may your riches ever be excellent; preserve in concord the relation of man and wife, and overpower the energies of the hostile.

समिद्धस्य प्रमहसोऽग्ने वन्दे तव श्रियम् । वृषभो द्युम्नवाँ असि समध्वरेष्विध्यसे ॥

samiddhasya pramahaso'gne vande tava śriyam | vṛṣabho dyumnavā~ asi samadhvareṣvidhyase ||

I praise the glory, Agni, of you when kindled and blazing fiercely; you are the affluent showerer (of benefits), you are fitly lighted at sacrifices.

समिद्धो अग्न आहुत देवान्यक्षि स्वध्वर । त्वं हि हव्यवाऴसि ॥

samiddho agna āhuta devānyakṣi svadhvara | tvaṃ hi havyavāḻasi ||

Agni, who are kindled and invoked, worship the gods at the holy rite, for you are the bearer of the oblation.

आ जुहोता दुवस्यताग्निं प्रयत्यध्वरे । वृणीध्वं हव्यवाहनम् ॥

ā juhotā duvasyatāgniṃ prayatyadhvare | vṛṇīdhvaṃ havyavāhanam ||

Offer worship and adoration to Agni when the sacrifice is solemnized; select the bearer of the oblation to the gods.
