अग्ने पावक रोचिषा मन्द्रया देव जिह्वया । आ देवान्वक्षि यक्षि च ॥

agne pāvaka rociṣā mandrayā deva jihvayā | ā devānvakṣi yakṣi ca ||

Divine purifier, Agni, with your radiant and plural asing tongue, bring hither and worship the gods

तं त्वा घृतस्नवीमहे चित्रभानो स्वर्दृशम् । देवाँ आ वीतये वह ॥

taṃ tvā ghṛtasnavīmahe citrabhāno svardṛśam | devā~ ā vītaye vaha ||

Feeder upon butter, bright and variegated radiance we solicit you, the beholder of heaven, to (partake of) the (sacrificial) food.

वीतिहोत्रं त्वा कवे द्युमन्तं समिधीमहि । अग्ने बृहन्तमध्वरे ॥

vītihotraṃ tvā kave dyumantaṃ samidhīmahi | agne bṛhantamadhvare ||

We kindle you at the sacrifice, wise Agni, whose food is the oblation, who are brilliant and vast.

अग्ने विश्वेभिरा गहि देवेभिर्हव्यदातये । होतारं त्वा वृणीमहे ॥

agne viśvebhirā gahi devebhirhavyadātaye | hotāraṃ tvā vṛṇīmahe ||

Come, Agni, with all the gods, to the donor (of the oblation); we have recourse to you as their invoker.

यजमानाय सुन्वत आग्ने सुवीर्यं वह । देवैरा सत्सि बर्हिषि ॥

yajamānāya sunvata āgne suvīryaṃ vaha | devairā satsi barhiṣi ||

To the instrumental tutor of the rite, pouring out the libation, bring excellent vigour; sit down with the gods upon the sacred grass.

समिधानः सहस्रजिदग्ने धर्माणि पुष्यसि । देवानां दूत उक्थ्यः ॥

samidhānaḥ sahasrajidagne dharmāṇi puṣyasi | devānāṃ dūta ukthyaḥ ||

Victor over thousands, you favour, when kindled our holy rites, the honoured messenger of the gods.

न्यग्निं जातवेदसं होत्रवाहं यविष्ठ्यम् । दधाता देवमृत्विजम् ॥

nyagniṃ jātavedasaṃ hotravāhaṃ yaviṣṭhyam | dadhātā devamṛtvijam ||

Reverence Agni, by whom all that is, is known, the bearer of oblations, the young of the gods, the divine, the ministrant priest.

प्र यज्ञ एत्वानुषगद्या देवव्यचस्तमः । स्तृणीत बर्हिरासदे ॥

pra yajña etvānuṣagadyā devavyacastamaḥ | stṛṇīta barhirāsade ||

May the sacrifice most solemnly offered by the devout duly proceed today (to the gods); spread the sacred grass for their seat.

एदं मरुतो अश्विना मित्रः सीदन्तु वरुणः । देवासः सर्वया विशा ॥

edaṃ maruto aśvinā mitraḥ sīdantu varuṇaḥ | devāsaḥ sarvayā viśā ||

May the Maruts, the Aśvins, Mitra, Varuṇa, the gods, with all their attendants, sit down upon this grass.
