ऋग्वेद 5.20 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

यमग्ने वाजसातम त्वं चिन्मन्यसे रयिम् । तं नो गीर्भिः श्रवाय्यं देवत्रा पनया युजम् ॥

yamagne vājasātama tvaṃ cinmanyase rayim | taṃ no gīrbhiḥ śravāyyaṃ devatrā panayā yujam ||

That (sacrificial) wealth, Agni, bounteous giver of food, of which you approve, and which deserves to be commanded by our praises, do you convey to the gods.

ये अग्ने नेरयन्ति ते वृद्धा उग्रस्य शवसः । अप द्वेषो अप ह्वरोऽन्यव्रतस्य सश्चिरे ॥

ye agne nerayanti te vṛddhā ugrasya śavasaḥ | apa dveṣo apa hvaro'nyavratasya saścire ||

may those prosperous men who do not offer oblations to you become destitute of great strength, and may (the followers) of other (than Vaidika) observances incur (your) enmity and punishment.

होतारं त्वा वृणीमहेऽग्ने दक्षस्य साधनम् । यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यं गिरा प्रयस्वन्तो हवामहे ॥

hotāraṃ tvā vṛṇīmahe'gne dakṣasya sādhanam | yajñeṣu pūrvyaṃ girā prayasvanto havāmahe ||

We, Prayasvats, have recourse to you, the invoker (of the gods), the means of strength; we glorify you first at sacrifices with praise.

इत्था यथा त ऊतये सहसावन्दिवेदिवे । राय ऋताय सुक्रतो गोभिः ष्याम सधमादो वीरैः स्याम सधमादः ॥

itthā yathā ta ūtaye sahasāvandivedive | rāya ṛtāya sukrato gobhiḥ ṣyāma sadhamādo vīraiḥ syāma sadhamādaḥ ||

Possessor of strength, day by day so (provide) that we may enjoy your protection; doer of good deeds, may we (be deserving) of wealth through sacrifice, and may we be happy with cattle, happy with male descendants.
