ऋग्वेद 3.19 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

अग्निं होतारं प्र वृणे मियेधे गृत्सं कविं विश्वविदममूरम् । स नो यक्षद्देवताता यजीयान्राये वाजाय वनते मघानि ॥

agniṃ hotāraṃ pra vṛṇe miyedhe gṛtsaṃ kaviṃ viśvavidamamūram | sa no yakṣaddevatātā yajīyānrāye vājāya vanate maghāni ||

I have recourse in this sacrifice to Agni, the invoker and praiser (of the gods), theintelligent, the all-knowing the unbeguiled; may he, the adorable, sacrificer for us to the gods, (and) accept the precious (offerings) we make for food and riches.

प्र ते अग्ने हविष्मतीमियर्म्यच्छा सुद्युम्नां रातिनीं घृताचीम् । प्रदक्षिणिद्देवतातिमुराणः सं रातिभिर्वसुभिर्यज्ञमश्रेत् ॥

pra te agne haviṣmatīmiyarmyacchā sudyumnāṃ rātinīṃ ghṛtācīm | pradakṣiṇiddevatātimurāṇaḥ saṃ rātibhirvasubhiryajñamaśret ||

Reverencing the gods, I plural ce before you Agni, the brilliant oblation-yielding, food-bestowing, butter-charged (offering); may you (propitiated) by the present wealth, sanctify (this) sacrifice by your circumambulation.

स तेजीयसा मनसा त्वोत उत शिक्ष स्वपत्यस्य शिक्षोः । अग्ने रायो नृतमस्य प्रभूतौ भूयाम ते सुष्टुतयश्च वस्वः ॥

sa tejīyasā manasā tvota uta śikṣa svapatyasya śikṣoḥ | agne rāyo nṛtamasya prabhūtau bhūyāma te suṣṭutayaśca vasvaḥ ||

He who isprotected, Agni, by you, becomes endowed with a most luminous mind; bestow upon him excellent progeny; may we ever be under the power of you who is the willing dispenser of riches; glorifying you (may we be) the receptacles of wealth.

भूरीणि हि त्वे दधिरे अनीकाग्ने देवस्य यज्यवो जनासः । स आ वह देवतातिं यविष्ठ शर्धो यदद्य दिव्यं यजासि ॥

bhūrīṇi hi tve dadhire anīkāgne devasya yajyavo janāsaḥ | sa ā vaha devatātiṃ yaviṣṭha śardho yadadya divyaṃ yajāsi ||

The ministering priests have concentrated in you Agni, who are divine, many hosts (of flames); do you bring hither the gods, youngest (of the deities), that you may worship today the divine effulgence.

यत्त्वा होतारमनजन्मियेधे निषादयन्तो यजथाय देवाः । स त्वं नो अग्नेऽवितेह बोध्यधि श्रवांसि धेहि नस्तनूषु ॥

yattvā hotāramanajanmiyedhe niṣādayanto yajathāya devāḥ | sa tvaṃ no agne'viteha bodhyadhi śravāṃsi dhehi nastanūṣu ||

Inasmuch as the attendant divine (priests) anoint you as the invoker of the gods to offer worship in the sacrifice, therefore do you assent to be our protector on this occasion, and grant abundant food to our descendants.
