ऋग्वेद 2.26 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

ऋजुरिच्छंसो वनवद्वनुष्यतो देवयन्निददेवयन्तमभ्यसत् । सुप्रावीरिद्वनवत्पृत्सु दुष्टरं यज्वेदयज्योर्वि भजाति भोजनम् ॥

ṛjuricchaṃso vanavadvanuṣyato devayannidadevayantamabhyasat | suprāvīridvanavatpṛtsu duṣṭaraṃ yajvedayajyorvi bhajāti bhojanam ||

May the sincere praiser (of Brahmaṇaspati) verily overcome (his) enemies; may the worshipper of the gods overcome him assuredly who does not reverence them; may the propitiatir (of Brahmaṇaspati) overcome him who is difficult to be overcome in battles; may he who offers sacrifice appropriate the food of him who does not sacrifice.

यजस्व वीर प्र विहि मनायतो भद्रं मनः कृणुष्व वृत्रतूर्ये । हविष्कृणुष्व सुभगो यथाससि ब्रह्मणस्पतेरव आ वृणीमहे ॥

yajasva vīra pra vihi manāyato bhadraṃ manaḥ kṛṇuṣva vṛtratūrye | haviṣkṛṇuṣva subhago yathāsasi brahmaṇaspaterava ā vṛṇīmahe ||

Offer worship, O man, (to Brahmaṇaspati); proceed resolutely against those who are meditating (hostility); keep your mind firm in contending against foes; offer oblations whereby you may be prosperous; we also solicit the protection of Brahmaṇaspati.

स इज्जनेन स विशा स जन्मना स पुत्रैर्वाजं भरते धना नृभिः । देवानां यः पितरमाविवासति श्रद्धामना हविषा ब्रह्मणस्पतिम् ॥

sa ijjanena sa viśā sa janmanā sa putrairvājaṃ bharate dhanā nṛbhiḥ | devānāṃ yaḥ pitaramāvivāsati śraddhāmanā haviṣā brahmaṇaspatim ||

He who with a believing mind worships Brahmaṇaspati, the father of the gods, with oblations, he verily receives food, together with his sons, his kindred, his descendants, his people, and (obtains) riches together with (all) men.

यो अस्मै हव्यैर्घृतवद्भिरविधत्प्र तं प्राचा नयति ब्रह्मणस्पतिः । उरुष्यतीमंहसो रक्षती रिष्ॐऽहोश्चिदस्मा उरुचक्रिरद्भुतः ॥

yo asmai havyairghṛtavadbhiravidhatpra taṃ prācā nayati brahmaṇaspatiḥ | uruṣyatīmaṃhaso rakṣatī riṣoṃ'hościdasmā urucakriradbhutaḥ ||

Brahmaṇaspati leads by a straight path (to his reward), the worshipper who propitiates him with oblations of butter; he guards him against sin; he protects him from foes and from distress; and wonderful (in might) confers upon him many (favours).
