[rv-10-76] • 8 श्लोकाः

आ व ऋञ्जस ऊर्जां व्युष्टिष्विन्द्रं मरुतो रोदसी अनक्तन । उभे यथा नो अहनी सचाभुवा सदःसदो वरिवस्यात उद्भिदा ॥

ā va ṛñjasa ūrjāṃ vyuṣṭiṣvindraṃ maruto rodasī anaktana | ubhe yathā no ahanī sacābhuvā sadaḥsado varivasyāta udbhidā ||

I propitiate you at the commencement of the food-possessing (dawns); you reveal Indra, the Maruts,heaven and earth; both heaven and earth being united attend on us in all the chambers of sacrifice; (may they fillus) with wealth.

तदु श्रेष्ठं सवनं सुनोतनात्यो न हस्तयतो अद्रिः सोतरि । विदद्ध्यर्यो अभिभूति पौंस्यं महो राये चित्तरुते यदर्वतः ॥

tadu śreṣṭhaṃ savanaṃ sunotanātyo na hastayato adriḥ sotari | vidaddhyaryo abhibhūti pauṃsyaṃ maho rāye cittarute yadarvataḥ ||

Pour forth this excellent libation; the stone grasped by the hand is like a horse when the grinder(effuses the Soma). The animating (worshipper) acquires virile strength overpowering (his foes) when (the stone)bestows horses for the sake of great wealth.

तदिद्ध्यस्य सवनं विवेरपो यथा पुरा मनवे गातुमश्रेत् । गोअर्णसि त्वाष्ट्रे अश्वनिर्णिजि प्रेमध्वरेष्वध्वराँ अशिश्रयुः ॥

tadiddhyasya savanaṃ viverapo yathā purā manave gātumaśret | goarṇasi tvāṣṭre aśvanirṇiji premadhvareṣvadhvarā~ aśiśrayuḥ ||

May this (sacrificial) work of this grinding-stone the effusion of the Soma, spread as it went formerlyalong the path to Manu; when the son of Tvaṣṭā, hidden by the (stolen) cows, and assuming the form of ahorse, (was to be slain), the worshippers had recourse at the sacrifices to the inviolable (upper grinding-stones).

अप हत रक्षसो भङ्गुरावत स्कभायत निॠतिं सेधतामतिम् । आ नो रयिं सर्ववीरं सुनोतन देवाव्यं भरत श्लोकमद्रयः ॥

apa hata rakṣaso bhaṅgurāvata skabhāyata niṝtiṃ sedhatāmatim | ā no rayiṃ sarvavīraṃ sunotana devāvyaṃ bharata ślokamadrayaḥ ||

Drive away the disturbing rākṣasas; keep off Nirṛti; prohibit all malignity; effuse for us riches withmale progeny; bear, stones, the praise that delights the gods.

दिवश्चिदा वोऽमवत्तरेभ्यो विभ्वना चिदाश्वपस्तरेभ्यः । वायोश्चिदा सोमरभस्तरेभ्योऽग्नेश्चिदर्च पितुकृत्तरेभ्यः ॥

divaścidā vo'mavattarebhyo vibhvanā cidāśvapastarebhyaḥ | vāyościdā somarabhastarebhyo'gneścidarca pitukṛttarebhyaḥ ||

(The Adhvaryu) praises you who are stronger even than heaven, quicker in work that Vibhvan, morediffusive of the Soma than Vāyu, more bountiful of food than Agni.

भुरन्तु नो यशसः सोत्वन्धसो ग्रावाणो वाचा दिविता दिवित्मता । नरो यत्र दुहते काम्यं मध्वाघोषयन्तो अभितो मिथस्तुरः ॥

bhurantu no yaśasaḥ sotvandhaso grāvāṇo vācā divitā divitmatā | naro yatra duhate kāmyaṃ madhvāghoṣayanto abhito mithasturaḥ ||

May the renowned stones bring us the effused Soma, (may they establish us) with brilliant praise inthe brilliant (Soma-sacrifice), where the priests milk forth the desirable Soma, crying out all around, and racingeach other.

सुन्वन्ति सोमं रथिरासो अद्रयो निरस्य रसं गविषो दुहन्ति ते । दुहन्त्यूधरुपसेचनाय कं नरो हव्या न मर्जयन्त आसभिः ॥

sunvanti somaṃ rathirāso adrayo nirasya rasaṃ gaviṣo duhanti te | duhantyūdharupasecanāya kaṃ naro havyā na marjayanta āsabhiḥ ||

The swiftly-moving grinding-stones effuse the Soma, desiring praise, they milk forth Soma; they milkforth for the spinkling (of Agni); the leaders (of rites) purify the oblations with their mouths.

एते नरः स्वपसो अभूतन य इन्द्राय सुनुथ सोममद्रयः । वामंवामं वो दिव्याय धाम्ने वसुवसु वः पार्थिवाय सुन्वते ॥

ete naraḥ svapaso abhūtana ya indrāya sunutha somamadrayaḥ | vāmaṃvāmaṃ vo divyāya dhāmne vasuvasu vaḥ pārthivāya sunvate ||

You stones, leaders (of rites), youu are the doers of good works; you who express the Soma for Indra,(make) all desirable wealth for the glory of heaven; you (give) all treasures to the earthly effuser.
