[rv-10-6] • 7 श्लोकाः

अयं स यस्य शर्मन्नवोभिरग्नेरेधते जरिताभिष्टौ । ज्येष्ठेभिर्यो भानुभिॠषूणां पर्येति परिवीतो विभावा ॥

ayaṃ sa yasya śarmannavobhiragneredhate jaritābhiṣṭau | jyeṣṭhebhiryo bhānubhiṝṣūṇāṃ paryeti parivīto vibhāvā ||

This is that Agni by whose protections the worshipper (diligent) in sacrifice prospers in his dwelling;who is radiant, travels everywhere invested with the excellent splendours of his rays.

यो भानुभिर्विभावा विभात्यग्निर्देवेभिॠतावाजस्रः । आ यो विवाय सख्या सखिभ्योऽपरिह्वृतो अत्यो न सप्तिः ॥

yo bhānubhirvibhāvā vibhātyagnirdevebhiṝtāvājasraḥ | ā yo vivāya sakhyā sakhibhyo'parihvṛto atyo na saptiḥ ||

Agni, the observer of truth, the eternal who shines resplendent with celestial splendours, who comesuntiring like a swift horse, (bringing) friendly gifts to his friends.

ईशे यो विश्वस्या देववीतेरीशे विश्वायुरुषसो व्युष्टौ । आ यस्मिन्मना हवींष्यग्नावरिष्टरथः स्कभ्नाति शूषैः ॥

īśe yo viśvasyā devavīterīśe viśvāyuruṣaso vyuṣṭau | ā yasminmanā havīṃṣyagnāvariṣṭarathaḥ skabhnāti śūṣaiḥ ||

Who rules over every oblation to the gods, who all pervading rules at the opening of the dawn, and inwhom (the sacrificer), whose sacrifice is undisturbed by his foes, throws his choice oblations.

शूषेभिर्वृधो जुषाणो अर्कैर्देवाँ अच्छा रघुपत्वा जिगाति । मन्द्रो होता स जुह्वा यजिष्ठः सम्मिश्लो अग्निरा जिघर्ति देवान् ॥

śūṣebhirvṛdho juṣāṇo arkairdevā~ acchā raghupatvā jigāti | mandro hotā sa juhvā yajiṣṭhaḥ sammiślo agnirā jigharti devān ||

Magnified by our oblations, propitiated by our praises, swift-moving, he proceeds to the presence ofthe gods; the adorable invoker of the deities, most entitled to worship, associated (with the gods). Agni presentsto them (the oblation) with the sacrificial ladle.

तमुस्रामिन्द्रं न रेजमानमग्निं गीर्भिर्नमोभिरा कृणुध्वम् । आ यं विप्रासो मतिभिर्गृणन्ति जातवेदसं जुह्वं सहानाम् ॥

tamusrāmindraṃ na rejamānamagniṃ gīrbhirnamobhirā kṛṇudhvam | ā yaṃ viprāso matibhirgṛṇanti jātavedasaṃ juhvaṃ sahānām ||

Bring before us with praises, and with adorations, the brilliant Agni, the bestower of enjoyments, as ifhe were Indra, him, whom wise worshippers praise with hymns as Jātavedas, the sacrificer of the victoriousGods.

सं यस्मिन्विश्वा वसूनि जग्मुर्वाजे नाश्वाः सप्तीवन्त एवैः । अस्मे ऊतीरिन्द्रवाततमा अर्वाचीना अग्न आ कृणुष्व ॥

saṃ yasminviśvā vasūni jagmurvāje nāśvāḥ saptīvanta evaiḥ | asme ūtīrindravātatamā arvācīnā agna ā kṛṇuṣva ||

O Agni, in whom all treasures are brought together as fleet horses are brought together in battle;bestow upon us protections even more effective than those of Indra.

अधा ह्यग्ने मह्ना निषद्या सद्यो जज्ञानो हव्यो बभूथ । तं ते देवासो अनु केतमायन्नधावर्धन्त प्रथमास ऊमाः ॥

adhā hyagne mahnā niṣadyā sadyo jajñāno havyo babhūtha | taṃ te devāso anu ketamāyannadhāvardhanta prathamāsa ūmāḥ ||

Since you, Agni, born in your glory and having sat down (on the altar), are immediately entitled to theoblation; therefore, the holy (priests) come to that your ensign and the mos worthy (worshippers) prosperprotected (by you).
