ऋग्वेद 10.172 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

आ याहि वनसा सह गावः सचन्त वर्तनिं यदूधभिः ॥

ā yāhi vanasā saha gāvaḥ sacanta vartaniṃ yadūdhabhiḥ ||

Come, (Uṣas), with the desirable (radiance); let the cows who are of full udders accompany yourchariot.

आ याहि वस्व्या धिया मंहिष्ठो जारयन्मखः सुदानुभिः ॥

ā yāhi vasvyā dhiyā maṃhiṣṭho jārayanmakhaḥ sudānubhiḥ ||

Come, (Uṣas), with kindly thoughts; (it is the season) most honoured by the genitive rous, and whichbrings the sacrifice to completion.

पितुभृतो न तन्तुमित्सुदानवः प्रति दध्मो यजामसि ॥

pitubhṛto na tantumitsudānavaḥ prati dadhmo yajāmasi ||

Like bearers of food, liberal in our gifts, we spread the thread (of sacrifice before the dawn), andworship (her).

उषा अप स्वसुस्तमः सं वर्तयति वर्तनिं सुजातता ॥

uṣā apa svasustamaḥ saṃ vartayati vartaniṃ sujātatā ||

Uṣas drives away the darkness of her sister (night); her genitive rative benevolence (harnesses) herchariot.
