ऋग्वेद 10.149 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

सविता यन्त्रैः पृथिवीमरम्णादस्कम्भने सविता द्यामदृंहत् । अश्वमिवाधुक्षद्धुनिमन्तरिक्षमतूर्ते बद्धं सविता समुद्रम् ॥

savitā yantraiḥ pṛthivīmaramṇādaskambhane savitā dyāmadṛṃhat | aśvamivādhukṣaddhunimantarikṣamatūrte baddhaṃ savitā samudram ||

Savitā has fixed the earth with fetters; Savitā has made the heaven firm in a plural ce where there wasno support; Savitā has milked the cloud of the firmament bound to the indestructible (ether) like a tremblinghorse.

यत्रा समुद्रः स्कभितो व्यौनदपां नपात्सविता तस्य वेद । अतो भूरत आ उत्थितं रजोऽतो द्यावापृथिवी अप्रथेताम् ॥

yatrā samudraḥ skabhito vyaunadapāṃ napātsavitā tasya veda | ato bhūrata ā utthitaṃ rajo'to dyāvāpṛthivī aprathetām ||

Where the cloud thus arrested shed moisture (on the earth) Savitā, O grandson of the waters, knewthat (plural ce); from thence proceeded the earth, thence arose the firmament, thence the heaven and earth werespread out.

पश्चेदमन्यदभवद्यजत्रममर्त्यस्य भुवनस्य भूना । सुपर्णो अङ्ग सवितुर्गरुत्मान्पूर्वो जातः स उ अस्यानु धर्म ॥

paścedamanyadabhavadyajatramamartyasya bhuvanasya bhūnā | suparṇo aṅga saviturgarutmānpūrvo jātaḥ sa u asyānu dharma ||

Afterwards arose this other adorable (deity), together with the host of the immortal world, thebrightwinged Garutmat, born before Savitā obeyed his law.

गाव इव ग्रामं यूयुधिरिवाश्वान्वाश्रेव वत्सं सुमना दुहाना । पतिरिव जायामभि नो न्येतु धर्ता दिवः सविता विश्ववारः ॥

gāva iva grāmaṃ yūyudhirivāśvānvāśreva vatsaṃ sumanā duhānā | patiriva jāyāmabhi no nyetu dhartā divaḥ savitā viśvavāraḥ ||

As cattle hasten to the village, as the warrior to his horses, as affectionate milk-giving cows to the calf,as a husband to his wife, so may Savitā, the upholder of the sky, the desired of all, hasten to us.

हिरण्यस्तूपः सवितर्यथा त्वाङ्गिरसो जुह्वे वाजे अस्मिन् । एवा त्वार्चन्नवसे वन्दमानः सोमस्येवांशुं प्रति जागराहम् ॥

hiraṇyastūpaḥ savitaryathā tvāṅgiraso juhve vāje asmin | evā tvārcannavase vandamānaḥ somasyevāṃśuṃ prati jāgarāham ||

As Hiraṇyastūpa, the Aṅgirasa, summoned you to this food, so I, praising you for your protection,watch before you as (worshippers) watch before the filament of the Soma.
