ऋग्वेद 10.143 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

त्यं चिदत्रिमृतजुरमर्थमश्वं न यातवे । कक्षीवन्तं यदी पुना रथं न कृणुथो नवम् ॥

tyaṃ cidatrimṛtajuramarthamaśvaṃ na yātave | kakṣīvantaṃ yadī punā rathaṃ na kṛṇutho navam ||

You made this Atri, ever diligent in worship, (swift) to run to the goal like a horse, and you renewedKakṣīvat as (a wheelwright renews) a car.

त्यं चिदश्वं न वाजिनमरेणवो यमत्नत । दृऴ्हं ग्रन्थिं न वि ष्यतमत्रिं यविष्ठमा रजः ॥

tyaṃ cidaśvaṃ na vājinamareṇavo yamatnata | dṛḻhaṃ granthiṃ na vi ṣyatamatriṃ yaviṣṭhamā rajaḥ ||

This Atri, whom the irresistible (asuras) dragged bound like a swift horse, you unloosed like a strongknot, (setting him) the youngest born upon the earth.

नरा दंसिष्ठावत्रये शुभ्रा सिषासतं धियः । अथा हि वां दिवो नरा पुन स्तोमो न विशसे ॥

narā daṃsiṣṭhāvatraye śubhrā siṣāsataṃ dhiyaḥ | athā hi vāṃ divo narā puna stomo na viśase ||

Leaders (of rites), of goodly aspect and radiant, design to accept Atri's praises, and so the praise ofyour worshipper (is) to be sung again to you leaders (of rites).

चिते तद्वां सुराधसा रातिः सुमतिरश्विना । आ यन्नः सदने पृथौ समने पर्षथो नरा ॥

cite tadvāṃ surādhasā rātiḥ sumatiraśvinā | ā yannaḥ sadane pṛthau samane parṣatho narā ||

Munificent Aśvins, my offering and praise (is) for your recognition, because, leaders (of rites), youprotect us at the sacrifice in the spacious sacrificial hall.

युवं भुज्युं समुद्र आ रजसः पार ईङ्खितम् । यातमच्छा पतत्रिभिर्नासत्या सातये कृतम् ॥

yuvaṃ bhujyuṃ samudra ā rajasaḥ pāra īṅkhitam | yātamacchā patatribhirnāsatyā sātaye kṛtam ||

You came with winged (steeds) to Bhujyu (immersed) in the ocean, at the world's end, perturbed; and,leaders, of truth, you restored him to your worship.

आ वां सुम्नैः शंयू इव मंहिष्ठा विश्ववेदसा । समस्मे भूषतं नरोत्सं न पिप्युषीरिषः ॥

ā vāṃ sumnaiḥ śaṃyū iva maṃhiṣṭhā viśvavedasā | samasme bhūṣataṃ narotsaṃ na pipyuṣīriṣaḥ ||

Prosperous,, most adorable, all-knowing, come to us and decorate us with blessings, as a (cow's)udder is adorned with abundant food.
