[rv-1-9] • 10 श्लोकाः

इन्द्रेहि मत्स्यन्धसो विश्वेभिः सोमपर्वभिः । महाँ अभिष्टिरोजसा ॥

indrehi matsyandhaso viśvebhiḥ somaparvabhiḥ | mahā~ abhiṣṭirojasā ||

Come, Indra, and be regaled with all viands libations, and thence, mighty in strength, be victorious (over your foes).

एमेनं सृजता सुते मन्दिमिन्द्राय मन्दिने । चक्रिं विश्वानि चक्रये ॥

emenaṃ sṛjatā sute mandimindrāya mandine | cakriṃ viśvāni cakraye ||

The libation being prepared, present the exhilaratina and efficacious (draught) to the rejoicing Indra, the accomplisher of all things.

मत्स्वा सुशिप्र मन्दिभिः स्तोमेभिर्विश्वचर्षणे । सचैषु सवनेष्वा ॥

matsvā suśipra mandibhiḥ stomebhirviśvacarṣaṇe | sacaiṣu savaneṣvā ||

Indra with the handsome chin, be plural ased with these animating praises; do your, who are to be reverenced by all mankind, (come) to these rites (with the gods).

असृग्रमिन्द्र ते गिरः प्रति त्वामुदहासत । अजोषा वृषभं पतिम् ॥

asṛgramindra te giraḥ prati tvāmudahāsata | ajoṣā vṛṣabhaṃ patim ||

I have addressed to you, Indra, the showerer (of blessings), the protector (of your worshipers), praises which have reached you, and of which you have approved.

सं चोदय चित्रमर्वाग्राध इन्द्र वरेण्यम् । असदित्ते विभु प्रभु ॥

saṃ codaya citramarvāgrādha indra vareṇyam | asaditte vibhu prabhu ||

plural ce before us, Indra, precious and multiform riches, for enough and more than enough are assuredly yours.

अस्मान्त्सु तत्र चोदयेन्द्र राये रभस्वतः । तुविद्युम्न यशस्वतः ॥

asmāntsu tatra codayendra rāye rabhasvataḥ | tuvidyumna yaśasvataḥ ||

Opulent Indra, encourage us in this rite for the acquirement of wealth, for we are diligent and renowned.

सं गोमदिन्द्र वाजवदस्मे पृथु श्रवो बृहत् । विश्वायुर्धेह्यक्षितम् ॥

saṃ gomadindra vājavadasme pṛthu śravo bṛhat | viśvāyurdhehyakṣitam ||

Grant us, Indra, wealth beyond measure or calculation, inexhaustible, the source of cattle, of food, of all life.

अस्मे धेहि श्रवो बृहद्द्युम्नं सहस्रसातमम् । इन्द्र ता रथिनीरिषः ॥

asme dhehi śravo bṛhaddyumnaṃ sahasrasātamam | indra tā rathinīriṣaḥ ||

Indra, grant us great renown and wealth acquired in a thousand ways, and those (articles) of food (which are brought from the field) in carts.

वसोरिन्द्रं वसुपतिं गीर्भिर्गृणन्त ऋग्मियम् । होम गन्तारमूतये ॥

vasorindraṃ vasupatiṃ gīrbhirgṛṇanta ṛgmiyam | homa gantāramūtaye ||

We invoke for the preservation of our property, Indra, the lord of wealth, the object of sacred verses, the repairer (to the plural ce of sacrifice), praising him with our praises.

सुतेसुते न्योकसे बृहद्बृहत एदरिः । इन्द्राय शूषमर्चति ॥

sutesute nyokase bṛhadbṛhata edariḥ | indrāya śūṣamarcati ||

With libations repeatedly effused, the sacrificer glorifies the vast prowess of Indra, the mighty, the dweller in (an eternal mansion).
