ऋग्वेद 1.49 (श्लोक 1) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

उषो भद्रेभिरा गहि दिवश्चिद्रोचनादधि । वहन्त्वरुणप्सव उप त्वा सोमिनो गृहम् ॥

uṣo bhadrebhirā gahi divaścidrocanādadhi | vahantvaruṇapsava upa tvā somino gṛham ||

Uṣas, come by auspicious ways from above the bright (region of the) firmament; let the purple (kine) bring you to the dwelling of the offerr of Soma.

सुपेशसं सुखं रथं यमध्यस्था उषस्त्वम् । तेना सुश्रवसं जनं प्रावाद्य दुहितर्दिवः ॥

supeśasaṃ sukhaṃ rathaṃ yamadhyasthā uṣastvam | tenā suśravasaṃ janaṃ prāvādya duhitardivaḥ ||

Uṣas, in the ample and beautiful chariot in which you ride, come today, daughter of heaven, to the pious offerer of the oblation.

वयश्चित्ते पतत्रिणो द्विपच्चतुष्पदर्जुनि । उषः प्रारन्नृतूँरनु दिवो अन्तेभ्यस्परि ॥

vayaścitte patatriṇo dvipaccatuṣpadarjuni | uṣaḥ prārannṛtū~ranu divo antebhyaspari ||

White-complexioned Uṣas, upon your coming, bipeds and quadrupeds (are in motion), and the winged birds flock around from the boundaries of the sky.

व्युच्छन्ती हि रश्मिभिर्विश्वमाभासि रोचनम् । तां त्वामुषर्वसूयवो गीर्भिः कण्वा अहूषत ॥

vyucchantī hi raśmibhirviśvamābhāsi rocanam | tāṃ tvāmuṣarvasūyavo gīrbhiḥ kaṇvā ahūṣata ||

You, Uṣas, dispersing the darkness, illumine the shining universe with your rays; such as you are, Kaṇvas, desirous of wealth, praise you with their hymns.
