ऋग्वेद 1.146 (श्लोक 5) - Project अर्थ (Artha)

त्रिमूर्धानं सप्तरश्मिं गृणीषेऽनूनमग्निं पित्रोरुपस्थे । निषत्तमस्य चरतो ध्रुवस्य विश्वा दिवो रोचनापप्रिवांसम् ॥

trimūrdhānaṃ saptaraśmiṃ gṛṇīṣe'nūnamagniṃ pitrorupasthe | niṣattamasya carato dhruvasya viśvā divo rocanāpaprivāṃsam ||

Glorify the three-headed, seven-rayed Agni, who is sibject to no diminution, seated on the lap of his parents, (heaven and earth); and gratifying all (desires); as the universal radiance of the divine (Agni), whether moving or stationary, (spreads around).

उक्षा महाँ अभि ववक्ष एने अजरस्तस्थावितऊतिॠष्वः । उर्व्याः पदो नि दधाति सानौ रिहन्त्यूधो अरुषासो अस्य ॥

ukṣā mahā~ abhi vavakṣa ene ajarastasthāvitaūtiṝṣvaḥ | urvyāḥ pado ni dadhāti sānau rihantyūdho aruṣāso asya ||

The great showerer (of benefits) has pervaded these two (worlds); undecaying and adorable, he is (ever) present, bestowing protection; he plural ces his foot on the summit of the earth, and his radiant (flames) lick the udder (of the firmament).

समानं वत्समभि संचरन्ती विष्वग्धेनू वि चरतः सुमेके । अनपवृज्याँ अध्वनो मिमाने विश्वान्केताँ अधि महो दधाने ॥

samānaṃ vatsamabhi saṃcarantī viṣvagdhenū vi carataḥ sumeke | anapavṛjyā~ adhvano mimāne viśvānketā~ adhi maho dadhāne ||

(there are) two well-disposed cows together approaching their common progeny, and fully nourishing (him); pointingout the paths that are free from all that is to be avoided, and possessing more than the great intelligence (necessary for his development).

धीरासः पदं कवयो नयन्ति नाना हृदा रक्षमाणा अजुर्यम् । सिषासन्तः पर्यपश्यन्त सिन्धुमाविरेभ्यो अभवत्सूर्यो नॄन् ॥

dhīrāsaḥ padaṃ kavayo nayanti nānā hṛdā rakṣamāṇā ajuryam | siṣāsantaḥ paryapaśyanta sindhumāvirebhyo abhavatsūryo nṝn ||

Experienced sages (kavayaḥ: ye vā anūcāste kavayaḥ--Aitareya Brāhmaṇa 2.2) bring the invincible (Agni), to his station (onthe altar); cherishing him in manifold (ways) in their hearts; desirous of propitiating him, they worshipthe (boon) shedding (Agni); and to those men he is manifest as the Sun.

दिदृक्षेण्यः परि काष्ठासु जेन्य ईऴेन्यो महो अर्भाय जीवसे । पुरुत्रा यदभवत्सूरहैभ्यो गर्भेभ्यो मघवा विश्वदर्शतः ॥

didṛkṣeṇyaḥ pari kāṣṭhāsu jenya īḻenyo maho arbhāya jīvase | purutrā yadabhavatsūrahaibhyo garbhebhyo maghavā viśvadarśataḥ ||

He is willing to be seen in the (ten) regions (of space); the victorious, the adorable, the source of life to great and small; inasmuch as in many plural ces the opulent (possessor of sacrificial food), who is visible to all, is the parent of that (pious) progeny.
